These teams better hope Norman is BBQ because we putting up 30 plus a game with our offense. They're gonna have to score points to keep up.

You mean against teams with losing records right?

Would you rather beat a team with a winning record and miss the playoffs or not beat a team with a winning record and make the playoffs?

Let's ask Raiders fans. You beat Denver and were on vacation after week 17. Thoughts?

Steve Smith is a Panthers legend. I thought he was released because he was old and got injured
It was due to wanting to revamp the culture and Steve didn't fit what the new GM wanted. Along with the notion that Steve wouldn't take a pay cut, he claims the team never asked him to which I honestly believe. But the week before cutting him he spoke about aging players taking pay cuts on a local radio station and he basically said "you paid us this money, I'm not taking less" But that along was reason enough to cut Steve.

We would've owed him $10 mil for this past season which would've gotten in the way of extending Cam and Luke before the cap increased this summer.

Of course I'd rather make the playoffs. I'm just saying that until you beat a good team, there's going to be question marks surrounding your beloved QB and his offense

Sounds a lot like the Dwyane Wade scenario with the Heat this offseason.

Tim Tebow isn't in Madden's free agency

I guess Johnny's going to have to back up Bortles

Can someone please make the prediction thread. I need to know where everyone stands before week 1.

Washington will be 9-7 - 11-5 range this year. We will win the NFC East and host a playoff game again. Mark my words.

I already forgot my picks and reasons from the other night...I forgot most of that evening, for that matter. :lol

These kind of questions require context to answer effectively.

By the time we were playing Denver there were glaring issues on the team that made it clear we weren't ready for the playoffs. But beating the Broncos IN Denver gives the team and organization something to work off of as you go into the coming year, which frankly is necessary when you want to build a winner.

So if you told me that last year we made the playoffs based on having an extremely weak schedule and having a weak division to feed off of, I wouldn't feel confident about the coming year without personnel changes.

Weak schedule like losing all 4 games vs the "weak" NFC? Two of those loses to the Lions and Bears? KC wasn't lighting the world on fire those first few weeks last season. They climbed out of the black hole they dug.

We may have lost to winning teams but we beat who we were supposed to. With all the slander the NFC East got last year someone remind me how many picked us to win the division? How many picked us anything but last?

I don't think I'm understanding what you're getting at here. Raiders weren't ready for playoffs last year based on how they played. They gave us reason to believe in the direction of the team based on performances like the Jets game or the Broncos game. I think last year's season is typical of a team trying to find a way to win.

The fact of the matter is that fluke seasons happen in the NFL (2008 Dolphins). Until Washington shows that they can sustain last year's success, people are going to question them.

Raiders 8-8 this year
Skins 7-9
That sounds about right
