I been on NT since 1999 and had to register just to make a comment. Who in the DMV remember these were $30 at Marshall's. LOL

I need a pair with forefoot zoom
Actually, I didn't!
Wait... was this on all the OG Zoom Flights... or just the PE's?
I only had the retros, which did have insoles!
OGs and his 2006 PEs had it this way. My OGs came like that back in the day and the zoom was amazing since it was right under the foot.
PJ with what looks to be a PE. These have the new built with the larger leather wrap on the toe.
Ya, Nike Sh*t on the retro. The black pair is a lot more subtle vs the white pair with the rat fur inner.Interestingly, OGs had 4 independent Zoom units per shoe. They were divided in a similar manner as the outsole pattern. 1 in heel, large forefoot, then 1 small one directly under big toe and other small one under other 4 toes.
I can't confirm whether any other early Zoom shoes used a similar setup. By 99 when the Flightposite came out Nike had already switched to a dual unit insole setup instead of incorporating the cushioning into the midsole itself.
The Flight 98 is one of my favorite shoes of all time but Nike REALLY cut a lot of corners with the retro. Not only was the cushioning cheapened, but they exchanged the carbon weave shanks for plastic. OGs also featured translucent inlays on the outsole, whereas the retros were solid rubber. There's also the fact they completely neglected to provide a liner to the backside of the shroud on OG white pair.
Confirmed. Yup.perhaps GP’s son pair from Oregon state? I don’t remember seeing these previously
Those might of been the Nike Son of Gloves… I actually remember because my mom didn’t want to pay $110 for a a kid in the 5th or 6th grade back then lol. So, when I saw the SOG at Marshall’s, I wanted them because it was cheap lol, but they didn’t have my size. I think the Zoom flight 98’s sold pretty well here in the DMV from what I rememberI been on NT since 1999 and had to register just to make a comment. These have Phylon midsoles, no crumbling.Sorry to bump, but would a DS pair crumble?? Thinking of just getting a pair on the aftermarket.
Still remember these at Marshall’s a year after they initially released. Never envisioned the sneaker landscape being like this. Salute for bringing the OGs out!Let’s see if no crumbling, I haven’t worn my OGs in a few years. Was mostly wearing the retro from time to time. I could take a re-retro though (for the same price as in ‘9
How’s the Zoom air? Still responsive?Let’s see if no crumbling, I haven’t worn my OGs in a few years. Was mostly wearing the retro from time to time. I could take a re-retro though (for the same price as in ‘9
It is a bit more firm in the left shoe compared to the right but still okay. It has definitely lost responsiveness but they’re still comfyHow’s the Zoom air? Still responsive?
Oh wow. It’s still dope you can still wear them. I still have my 2013 retro. It is a bit more firm in the left shoe compared to the right but still okay. It has definitely lost responsiveness but they’re still comfy
I probably wore the white pair once, don't think I even wore the Blue Devil CW yet. Black maybe 3/4 times.I still wear mine but they're getting cooked. I also really need to clean them up and think about a restoration soon.
