Herrera is pretty good, too; he's closing for the Reds AAA team now.

He'll no doubt be the smallest player in MLB when he gets called up.

i saw him pitch a couple weeks ago and he can't be taller than 5'7", but he has been nice lately.

the only difference between Bruce and Hamilton is that Josh is 27 (i believe) and Jay just turned 21 this past April.

Bruce Almighty.

Forgetting Geovany Soto of the Cubs?

Soto is older than Mauer, McCann, and Martin

Because he's older doesn't mean he isn't up and coming... he's only 25.

Ryan Howard is another player that was "up and coming" when he debuted. He was 25 then too.

Who do you think will be "the future"? Three guys that are younger and more proven, or the older guy who is least proven?

Speaking of streaking hitters...

Josh Hamilton adds another HR and 2 more RBIs...

wildkycat, I though Bailey hadn't been very good this year?

I'm pretty sure Bailey started off really well this season, but has been getting shelled his last 4 or 5 outings. Honestly though, he can't be anyworse than Belisle or Fogg as the Reds 5th starter.

Ehh, you can nitpick this all you want but still you can't just discredit an up and coming player for being 25 y/o regardless if there are players justas good or even better that are younger than Soto.

Herrera got called up and is pitching right now.

"When you see him, he'll look like a batboy," Reds manager Dusty Baker joked.

As Herrera talked to reporters in the clubhouse tunnel, reliever David Weathers walked by.

"[He's] the only player you get to look down to," Weathers said.

we're bringing all the kids up. Bruce, Herrera, Bailey...all Texas boys i believe.

and he came in with guys on 2nd and 3rd with no outs...got out of the inning w/o giving up a run. ground out, walk, struck out Ryan Howard and Pat Burrell.

Ryan Braun now has 50 homeruns, 141 rbis and a .314 avg in 171 career games. If this guy played in a bigger market he'd be considered the 2nd coming ofJesus Christ.

WOW Herrera looked impressive tonight, before the game Marty B said he saw him in the clubhouse and thought he was the bat boy haha.

How tall is Wandy Rodriguez from the Astros?

I dont know if it's me but he looks like 5"5 to me, his profile says he's 5"11 , no way. Maybe the players around him are too big, I dontknow.
