It would have been too big of a distraction
I agree but then that goes back to the poor planning and organizing.
How about lets not have Barry try out his speed enhancer device and immediately send him to another Earth just for him to come back a split second later and not talk about it. They could've had a whole filler ep where when he came backs something followed him and he has to defeat it (like the time wraith ep) instead of hand waving it away early in an ep where you face off with Zoom again and he ends up taking Barry's speed.
The main thing they drop though is Barry is not only faster but now fast enough to break through dimensional barriers, meaning this ep didn't need Cisco opening a breach. Barry could've just kept training and learn how to get Earth-2 but they strangely drop the entire thing.
It's also weird that Barry spent like an entire day on Supergirl's Earth, got in to 2 fights, had some lunch and came back to his Earth with literally no time passing. Cisco doesn't even brng up how Barry literally ran through a portal and came out another one a second later
Because Barry accidentally traveled to Earth 3 and got stuck there. If Kara wasn't a super alirn he'd still be on Earth 3 right now. What speedster is there on Earth 2 to throw Barry into a wormhole? Having Cisco learn to control his power means Barry will never just get stuck on another Earth.
That was honestly another problem with the Supergirl ep now that we saw this recent ep.
In this recent ep Barry is faster than ever. 4x faster or w/e they said. He's now faster than Zoom they say. He was playing possum when Zoom was chasing him, he honestly should've just curb stomped Zoom with the speed like he did him. That aside when Barry got to Supergirl's Earth for w/e reason he wasn't fast enough to open up that portal again but he got their on his own.
If Barry had somehow ran to Earth-2, he would've had to beat Zoom first before figuring out a way home and if he was really way faster than him he could've especially since Zoom has nobody smart enough to recreate the device that steals speed. After Barry beats Zoom on Earth-2 he could've just teamed up with his Earth-2 self and try to figure a way back to Earth-1. If he really wanted to risk it he could've made a velocity-10 along with the speed enhancer device and take his chances running back to his Earth.
They asked us to suspend too much disbelief this episode. Like I just outran and caught this fool with ease, but i'm gon just give it to him now.
I think they explained in some ep that if Barry stayed in a timeline that was different he'd eventually just lose his memories of the timeline he is originally from.
or maybe that was a Legends of Tomorrow ep that was explained
Either way, Zoom eventually gained the memories of the Zoom pretending to be Jay. I think
