****The Everything LaVar Ball Thread****

Pops wylin and just trying to cash in ASAP off his boys. That video showed me all I need to see to go along with his ridiculous statements about his oldest. What's pops résumé? Did he play? Willing to bet not past high school if so

Meh.. just teach them there's 26 letters in the alphabet. Plan A rarely works

Lavar just tryna get that wack ads big baller brand out there. Tryna get all the attention on him and his kids and keep us talking about em. He doesn't truly believe he's better than Steph, he can't. He can believe he will be better 1 day but not now. Hell he needs to pray lianagelo is as good as Seth cuz he's the one that's gonna do 4 years and become a gym teacher.

I saw the episode of First Take with this topic and i cant be mad at Lavar.

He wants best for his child, comparing him to Curry was a bit much, but if you want your child to succeed you set standards for your kid

It puts pressure on Lamelo, but it should also push and drive to be the best.

Either way, all 3 kids should have a good career in basketball.
I think it's 100% fine to want the best for your kid. I just don't think he's going about it in the right way. He's making more about him, than his sons. To me, it's ridiculously selfish.
im wit you on this part, i would say he just a proud parent

but dude said all this wasnt a mistake, he bred his sons, he always had a tall attractive woman on deck so he would end up breedin a hooper

after he said that i was wonderin his kids gotta know his dad only stuck around to use em as a meal ticket, but then again they could flip it on some its a good thing

and then what type of position u put yo wife or bm in talkin stupid like that to a media source on video

or maybe he just always say dumb ****

all around he a clown usin his sons clout to talk crazy, he a lame flat out

:20

Lavar must've went to the prestigious Joseph Jackson school of "hell or high water" parenting.
They gonna make it.
LMFAO

they dad a lame fr

u can tell he always put them against each other, they talk **** so dry even tho its true

i aint kno gelo was 6'6 tho

My girl 6 ft and I'm 6'3 [emoji]128064[/emoji] u mean to tell me I got the next lamelo. Anybody know where to cop the Joe Jackson recipe?

He's also trying to start his own clothing brand, create his own shoe brand, and said Lonzo wont have an agent and it will be all in house.

He's gonna take so much of Lonzo's money. Feel bad for him because he seems like a real level headed kid. The other 2 aren't gonna do anything.

Lavar is a clown.
Uh Lonzo should give his Dad whatever he wants considering Lonzo probably wouldn't be in the league without him.

Same for Shabazz Muhammad's pops.

These guys are very much the reason why their sons are in the league. Theyve pushed these guys from as soon as soon as they could walk.

They specifically chose tall athletic women procreate with to give their sons even better chances. Everything was calculated.

For every success story, there are countless (too many to name) where the star player flamed out at some stretch reaching up to the NBA level. Look at all the kids that declare early with agents. It's sad. Most have strong headed fathers or mentors pushing them just as hard.

For every Shabazz or Lonzo are 25 other kids who now hate their dads.

Even lower than that, from HS to just division I, most kids arent totally self motivated. They have parents or coaches and such pushing them in practices. Mr. Ball is no different nor better than any other parent who happens to just as motivating but behind closed doors. I

t reminds me of Bryce Harper in HS. He was hyped and there were stories of him practicing long hours with either his coach or his dad. Very tough drills. Now whether he still likes his coach/dad and for his own success, who knows. But he made it thanks in part to that sort of push. More than anything, those were silent sort of pushes. What we see today is a new level of parenting.

I remember garnett wanted his own sub-brand with nike. Soon he was with and1.

how many ahletes have a real chance at the league?

and how much does politics/marketing play a part?

he sidestepped the media and upstreamed his kids straight to the public

they don't want the athletes to have their own anchor

they wanna be the support aka leech

they don't like it

I'm not mad at his dad because thats what a father supposed to do. It's sportscenter thats giving him the outlet. Why are they interviewing him?

As long as he keeps saying outlandish stuff, they're will be people sports wise to interview him. They're looking for a story and something to get attention for viewers. If he gave the usual pc answers most parents give, he wouldn't be getting the attention he's getting. But as long as he keeps making outlandish statements, the mic and camera will find their way to him.

Hopefully it doesn't do his sons a disservice in the long run.

The Mannings did the same thing....actually worse and nobody cared

Yes, they said they wouldn't play for certain teams...but have they flat out disrespected another pro player by saying the quality of team play wouldn't drop off if their son stepped in someone else's *cough* steph curry *cough* shoes?

I'm sorry but these names Lamelo and Liangelo are ******* hilarious.

It's sad seeing a parent (usually a father when it comes to sports) trying to live through their kids.

LaVar's brother apparently got funky names too. Like one is named LaFrance. I got find the list. :lol

-But even though he is annoying, his sons seems like level headed cool dudes, especially Lonzo. And he has provided a good life from them too, so let that man cook.

and he still can't dunk :{

Gelo can dunk :lol

He just isn't the athlete Lonzo is.

But Gelo looked better last year. If he worked his athleticism and ball handling, I thought he could comeback and prove his UCLA offer wasn't just a handout to get Lonzo, but he looks worst this year.

He needs to lose weight.

He means well. But all that extra stuff is just setting his kids up for unnecessary scrutiny and a bunch of people wanting them to fail to spite that dad. Added pressure and what not, especially for the younger ones still in high school.

At the same time though like you said, he provided a good life for them and pushed them hard which helped them get to this level. It's a double edged sword I guess. Hopefully he tones it down a bit though if it becomes evident that his words end up backfiring for his sons though.
