Well have to see how the weekend spells out but after Thursday we saw 3 of the guys in the hunt.

Charles Woodson put another great performance up vs the lions covering Megatron, gave up 1 TD on a VERY short field as a result of a fumble and penalty butmade up for it big time with 2 INT's, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 TD, 6 tackles, and 1 sack. Giving him a total of 54 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 FF, 7 INT's and 2 TD's.

Elvis Dumervil added 2 sacks to his total bringing him to 14 on the year while also forcing an Eli Manning fumble. Unfortunately he seems to be a one trickpony as his sacks are the only real thing he excels at, hes not a force in coverage or run support.

Jay Ratliff - The numbers arent shiny for Jay as they are for other candidates but his contribution is visible, hes been blowing up centers and guards all yearlong and has recorded 4 sacks from the NT position as well as 31 tackles. Most likely will not win because of #'s and position.

Jared Allen will be in the conversation but I believe hell be 3-5th in the running, 7.5 of his sacks have come against the Packers who have allowed 43 sacksthrough 11 games. He has been somewhat inconsistant getting after the QB.

Darren Sharper started the year on fire with 7 INT's and 3 TD's but has been quiet in the last 3 weeks.

I probably have forgot 1 or 2 so post who else is in the running and who you would vote for at this point.

no its not.

just hand the award to sharper already.

Sharper has to continue to play at a high level to get the award. Could even take his TD vs the Dolphins off the board as it was clearly a fumbleinto the endzone for a touchback that the refs missed.

3-4 weeks ago he was running away with it... well see how he plays in December

I think its a two horse race between Sharper and Woodson that will see Jared Allen unjustifiably win it. Not saying he isnt having a great year, however.

It's definitely Woodson. He's made plays after plays that have WON games for Green Bay. You could even argue he's having the best season of hiscareer.

i think its to close to call right now but i thinks its between Woodson, Sharper, and Allen

Woodson should win but they will end up giving it to allen. Just how these things work out

Son we saw the Saints D without him last year

But in all seriousness he played his first game last week after missing two. The Saints record may play an integral part of him winning it too.

Woodson just started to play like this in the last four games.

If Woodson continues to play like this while Sharper play declines it will be Woodson.

But if they are neck and neck it will be Sharper.

Woodson has been playing like this all year. Sharper and Woodson is a close one.

^ Like I said, one trick pony. Not saying he wont get votes but sacks is ALL he has.
Tuesday, December 1, 2009
http://
Woodson named NFC defensive player of the week, again
No surprise here, but Packers cornerback Charles Woodson will be named NFC defensive player of the week tomorrow, an NFL source said.

Woodson dominated the Packers' Thanksgiving victory at Detroit with two interceptions, a sack and a fumble.

It's the second time that Woodson has won the award in the last month. He also was honored after the Packers' win over the Cowboys. He also was named NFC defensive player of the month for September.
Bout to pick up another DPOM award too it looks like... will be his 2nd DPOM this year.
