The Combat Jack Show Thread

More on the, "Who should speak up" topic.

Also, when JB was active would HE have spoken up? NAH. So stop the nonsense man.

I listened last night but I dont think Joe named names like the caption said

Other than that, I thought he was being hypocritical. He wouldn't have spoken up.

I didnt really **** with Joe music, but social commentary wasn't really his bag, was it? Thought he was emo rap. More about self reflection as opposed to a mirror for society.

I kinda get him calling out Cole who does try to play that mirror for society role. Like, I dont expect anyone to do anything. But id understand why some would expect it from Cole or Kendrick. You cant make songs like Alright and then not expect a few eye brows when youre silent as **** and the world is burning.
So who decides which topics rappers should/shouldn't speak out against?

Are they allowed to be "all cried out" as far as not feeling the need to speak on whatever the next major issue is? (Because the list is endless if we are being honest. )

Joe is an active hypocrite :lol

Ain’t say a thing political in his rap career unless it was used for a punchline.

It’s pretty obvious a large swath of the black community/hip hop community is letting the whites fend for themselves.

Black ppl were being killed yearly by police not even as far back as 3 years ago on a routine basis. Before and during that time there was a mass shooting every other week.

This is the new normal.

I also think MLH being there pushes them to be more political than they were before. I wonder if Joe would have made those comments had this Minnesota ICE situation had happened 3 years ago.

The laws might be different in every state for that.

I know I never got arrested and all the pregnant girls from 15-17 never got arrested either. So maybe it’s one of those laws that don’t get enforced cuz you know they can’t reasonable be enforced.
I mean I guess, just weird yu pressed both those dudes then just randomly threw that statement that was kinda wild (and incorrect) and this one too

Who were all these rappers who spoke out when George Floyd, Trayvon, Walter Scott, Tamir Rice happened?

It’s nothing new. The it’s happening to others doesn’t make a difference. Just a convenient excuse.

Dee 1 has been speaking about it.

Marc was completely right about that topic but Ish was trying his hardest to claim that people are being anti white

He said they say racist stuff towards whites on the pod and even Parks had to correct him.

I mean it’s not really incorrect if the law ain’t being enforced.

There’s a lot of laws on the books that aren’t recognized so at that point they’re not really laws like robbery or homicide.

And again if it’s not a law in one state and is in another how am I incorrect? It’s not like I made a blanket statement and said it ain’t against the law in the whole world.

A lot of rappers put out songs around those moments

That's just off the top of my head

He was killing me with that.

This is what I HATEEEEEEEEE about modern hip hop fans and critics….They call Cole boring, Call Kendrick boring or to conscious….

Then want them to reverse course after talking mess about them and their music for YEARSSS.

The “I ain’t ever heard someone say turn on____ music” culture.

They want consciousness when it’s convenient. That’s the problem.

I don't think anybody is talking about about them.

It's a thousand rappers besides them. They're 40 or damn near it. They're the usual suspects. They're not even Gen Z.

Who are the voices under 25....hell 30?

This is exactly my point. The artist in those age ranges are the ones he should be talking about

I copped a sub because of that Dr. Umar interview...and upgraded the sub when part 2 wasn't on the cheap tier.

Haven't cancelled in anticipation of Umar's return, which Joe has already said isnt gonna happen. But a brother can still hope.
