Tyler Perry movies really are terrible for real tho. Wifey was talking about just how poor and super unrealistic the writing is. He’s become a worse version of himself as writer. Some plays don’t translate to film/movies.
I tried to watch that Netflix (beauty in black) show with her, and that ***** was beyond corny and just outrageous. It was like a worse version of P-valley. Had to cut it off immediately. They had T-Rell homegirl from bacc on fig , playing a major role .
And it’s clear there is some homoeroticism going on with him. Beyond just making things for women to be attracted to. He REALLY be pushing a line. Idc what he be saying, that dude def ayo lol

He definitely AYOOOOO technology but that’s neither here, nor there.
Black people as a whole have gotten too caught up in this whole trauma/depression/broken home syndrome.
Black people and the discovery of “mental health” and “therapy” is the same as like when folks discovered Benihana’s and hibachi.
Social media is a cesspool of black people peddling drama and trauma, so to speak.
Tyler is just catering to that “hurt” crowd within the black stratosphere and it’s HUGEEEEE
Every wants a peace of the mental illness/“do bad all by myself” crowd of people
Folks wants to be depressed nowadays or, better yet, want the world to know that they’re suffering from undiagnosed trauma.

What’s wild is how lazy and cheap he’s gotten. He’s churning out Chris Stokes level, Tubi original movies….at this stage in his career where he as the means of production, a studio etc….to tell better, newer stories.
A lot of the criticism about his was always correct. In the same vein, he def created his own lane and opportunities for a lot of black ppl.

Low quality foolishness is what sells right now…Tubi movies and random internet “reality” shows went from just a joke to stuff that ppl legit watch and follow these days…TP was already making close to that kinda content bit now it’s poppin so he def gonna be all in with it

Fast fashion… fast music… low attention spans, etc.
I read somewhere, that a lot of folks want Tyler to use outside writers but he refuses to.
It reminds me of Birdman not wanting to use samples in the early cash money days
I say all this to say that I’m a FAN of Tyler Perry. I respect what he’s done.
It’d be awesome if he, and spike could make amends and collab.
A Coogler, TP and Spike collaboration would be cool

The reason he won't is cuz his fans will still consume his crap no matter the quality.
If he can do the bare minimum and still yield high returns why would he ever spend more.

My aunt was in a Tyler perry show some years back and I told her how I view his work and that I wasn’t excited as she was about her being in it. It’s trash
