The Combat Jack Show Thread

nothing to gossip about if you lived it

no point in doing interviews if you're not forth coming or selling something

Yes it, anything else is dry snitching

He said enough

Go read Superhead or Prodigy's books if you want more

Sauce gave up no info

some good parts but few and far between

I thought it was pretty informative. From his personal background (going to college, pledging, etc.) to corroborating a lot of other Rocafella artists' accounts on how Jay rolls.

I thought so too. I'm not sure what more he wanted.

Who he ghostwrote for?

Some dirt on Jay, Dame and Puff?

dry snitching lol

yall boys reach like no other

i didn't say i wanted him to tell or gossip bout nothing, just give detailed answers

ciphs and lord jamars interview was far more entertaining

sauce was super short with all his answers, very dry listen

An hour and a half wasn't enough for Russell

One of the best episodes in a minute

Dilla's mom and Talib was another very good interview

and the one with Jessica Rosenblum was better than I thought. Though a lot of the more interesting stuff, City College and Chris Lighty she didn't want to talk about.

The Flex part was interesting

the sauce money interview is

Scarface episode

It's a little all over the place, but still good.

The Cipha Sounds one was really good.

Dallas Penn seems like a real ill dude. Like your favorite uncle who can tell you about all the stuff that went down in NYC in the 80's/90's cause he was on the same **** you're on now back when you were just a little toddler.

He reminds me of all my uncles from that era. Like stories would always have weird drugs/drug dealer references as markers for the time period, "This had to be like 88-89 'cause n's was smokin chocolate but still rollin up in the bamboos." or "Yea that had to be like 92-93 cause that's when Tony was with them n's out in Far Rock plugged with the Russians. In fact I KNOW it was like June '92 cause that was the summer we all was smokin dust and Sadat X got suckerpunched after the show by that dude Jackknife up on Linden."

I got mad uncles like Dallas Penn.

Comments are on point. Have met DP numerous times at events around NYC. Real cool dude for sure and he knows his stuff..

and his Lo game hurts my feelings on the REGULAR. Much respect due.

Did they ever state why they're not doing a season two with complex?

Clark Kent and Russ barely had a break.

I don't think everything went as smoothly as intended. Like, Just Blaze was in a couple episodes and he said he wasn't feeling going all the way "there" for a show that was edited down to only 30 minutes or something to that effect. I enjoy all the moves they make and I enjoyed watching the TV episodes.

What's yall thoughts on the new format he did with the Monch episode? I'm digging it, makes the show run a lot smoother and not one long *** interview

I enjoyed that a lot. That's one of my favorite episoides. Monch happens to be one of my favorites anyway.

I'm also glad that they changed up things some to make it different from Juan Epstein. When I see both have the same guest for the week I'm not as eager to listen to the one that comes out last. I thought the Juan Epstein one was **** and they spent too much time babbling and talking about themselves or nonsense.

I'm halfway through this Lil Boosie one and I like this also. Boosie is a likable and charismatic dude.

I was just talking to my brother about that this morning :lol But I'm sure you realize when cats are doing their media tour they hit all the shows/podcasts. If your interests lie around the same topics, you'll hear the same guests more often than not. Like a few weeks ago Hannibal Burress was on 5 of the twelve podcasts in my feed

I enjoyed the Boosie one more than I thought I would, they talked about real life stuff with him, which opened him up

I'm not a Dallas Penn fan, and I've grown to like Pete.

He was solid during the Boosie interview.

who kid had me rollin....

@ all the times he been kidnapped tho

this

DP comes off as a corn ball to me...he just says a lot of random **** that doesn't make sense or he wants to go against the grain just cause

DP makes it hard to listen to the first part of the show before the guest interviews start. His voice hurts my ears and i'm kind of disappointed by how he looks. (has nothing to do with the show just putting that out there)

Pete has grown on me. He doesn't seem into hip hop that much so he sits pretty quiet during most interviews.

I love that he thinks being Italian makes him a different kind of white or something :lol

I love when JB is there cuz he's real mellow.

I prefer this show over Juan Ep cuz Ciph is super corny and I can always hear the spit in the corners of his mouth. I like/hate that he's such a fan of many of the guests and it shows.
