The College Basketball Post

Gregg Marshall is southern class. I hope he stays there and I think he will given his character. He makes good bank there anyway.

You just can't make that call with 6 seconds to go in the Final Four UNLESS it's blatantly obvious.

That tie up call was quick as hell and was nowhere near obvious. It even looked like it could be a reach in foul.

Either way I still don't think the Shockers win, but you gotta let the kids play man. This incredible game shouldn't potentially hinge on a jump ball call. Weak.

But what's the alternative? You let them play, a bunch of people dive in for the rock and then call a foul? The possession arrow was in favor of Louisville. The rule sucks but thats the rule.  Heads up play at the end by Hancock.

The Shockers lost that game. They forced shots at the end and if it wasn't for the tip-ins from their big men, this game wouldn't have been close. Armstead was shook and the collapse begins with him.

I agree that the Shockers lost that game. If they handled pressure better then we wouldn't be having this conversation. However, I hate the possession arrow rule. Why, are we still using it? Many times that these guys get tied up, there are fouls. Why are we "babying" college players. Look at the NBA, can almost guarantee a NBA ref would have called that a foul. College refs need to be trained better to call more fouls, imo. It was the RIGHT call (a little quick), but to me it emphasizes everything wrong with the college game. I wish the players could have decided that game, at the end. I also realize one play does not make a game, but look at the Seahawks game this year with the replacements.

Yea let them play for another second and baker ripped the ball from him as you can see. Another second and WS could have tied it but no, refs suck.

Nobody is questioning the rule.  I think people are just questioning the call at that point in the game because it wasn't an obvious call.  It could've easily been called a foul, which I wouldn't have liked either because it truly wasn't obvious.

And quite frankly, yes, I'd rather see the refs let them play through that and if someone fouls, call a foul.  Basketball games need to be decided by the players in the waning seconds, not a questionable call.  I mean, dude blew his whistle a second or less after dude had his hands on the ball.

As far as the Shockers losing the game, I agree.  They didn't lose because of the shoddy jump ball call.  BUT that call cost them a chance to tie it up.

Solid mid game promo cbs.....muse and floyd whose analysis was "I don't think these teams have played each other this year, so it's a basketball game." ......def

He sounds faded.
He might be, but after seeing tons of other Floyd interviews I'm convinced that as brash and flamboyant as he is he's either, for a lack of a better word right now, limited in vocabulary or just can't put elaborate sentences together.

Those cuff links are ridiculous. I'm mirin'.

Early showed out. Armstead did not. Wanted to see more of Wiggins.

Pitino, please get Chane more touches. Too physical, unstoppable in the paint. Wichita had no answer for Hancock. Showed leadership & heart for Ware.

Can't even pick between Michigan & Cuse. Pure toss-up. I wanna say Coach B's zone wins it with game management from MCW, but Wolverines seem a team of destiny. We'll see how well Burke & Hardaway shoot the ball. McGary needs to be strong and tough again.

HAHA I noticed that too. You ever see his fights against ESPN? That **** is the funniest he always gets mad when they say former champ and he starts to stutter.

I feel you. The ref was pretty quick with the whistle. I just feel like like to harp on the possession arrow is to take away from Hancock's awareness and the collapse by the shockers.

Cheers to non-controversial 2nd game.

yeah he was struggling a bit

Never really noticed that about him

Going Champstradamus mode. Cuse: 60, Michigan: 52. 16 for Triche. Burke & Hardaway shoot a lower percentage combined than we're accustomed to.

Floyd had difficultly representing his basketball knowledge with the Cuse/L-Ville reference.
