Too small of a demand according to 2K Devs and that was when College Basketball was a little more traditional than what it is today.

Too difficult for them to pump ads and micro transactions with also worrying about NCAA licensing and NIL player Likeness is the real truth.

2k has no interest in making a game dedicated just to basketball.
