Everyone is down on Skal

but Skal obliterated Thon at the hoop summit, he was was way better going against him in the practices and was a million times better in the game.


I hope the team that drafts both of them own a d-league franchise.

I'm not saying I would pick Thon over Skal whatsoever. Skal is definitely a better player. Some team with a D-league affiliate, like you mentioned, will surely take a chance on Thon though. End of first round would not be surprising.

The simple fact that he can score off the dribble and shoot jumpshots from long range at 7 feet tall makes him valuable. If he would go to college for a year he'd be a top 5 pick probably. Will he be a superstar? Who knows but teams would definitely value his versatility nonetheless.

Posted this in the draft thread...but there is a draft loophole that 19 year old 5th year seniors should take advantage of.

Santnam Singh did it last year from IMG academy....and he's technically the last player to be drafted out of HS. Mavs drafted him 52nd overall from IMG. Johnathan Issac could and should try it as well.

He can't actually do either of those things really, not at a level that would work in college or the NBA.

He's totally overrated as a shooter he's decent out to 18 feet maybe but shot flattens at the college 3. Long way off from being able to hit NBA 3's. And his ball handling skills is stuff that works in HS not at college or the pros. Small hands poor feel make him walking tunrocer shen he starts playing with the ball.


His best trait is his competitiveness and being a hard worker but an NBA team is going to have to improve his body, skill level and feel for the game.
