The Chi [ A Showtime Original Series | Sundays @ 10 | Season 3 ]

Cruz said they need Kevin to corroborate the story of Coogi being shot, that's why he wants to question him.
I know what the detective said but its not like he's testifying in court.

Dude made a confession. All they need is a witness' statement.

And to keep it real, **** a corroboration. Dude confessed. Droped info only the murderer would know. Book him.

This dude Ronnie needs to get lumped up all of s2.

Loved the first season. My new fav show. A very accurate look at black neighborhoods. Everyday working people, street dudes, the lives of kids.

- Why Jason girl send him out for ice cream :{

- I'm still surprised Ronnie killed Coogie like that. You can tell he wasn't street dude.

- Tai Davis (Jason mother) is fine as hell

Coogie wasn’t skreet but he was a thief. Dude shouldn’t have took the chain and wore it knowing somebody was going to come looking for answers. I just hate he died so early in the show

It was wild stupid.

You go robbing corpses, you gonna have problems.

Just saw the first ep. Nothing like The Wire imo.

Its vaguely similar in that it covers the storiss of multiple characters from children to grown folk. But hell, a lot of shows did that.

Anyway, it was a good first ep. The cycle of killing was pretty ****ed up. Although, I don't feel bad for the kid given the scumbag move he pulled.
I tell people it is like cross between Soul Food and the Wire

Finally finished this, dope show, curious to see the role of The OG in szn 2

new showrunner for s2 is a black woman, ayanna floyd davis of empire fame

maybe thats why they had that controversy in the first season it was a white guy doing it

What controversy?

Film is a resource-heavy industry, between the innumerable props required, the insane production schedules and the flurry of people constantly barking into headsets like they’re coordinating a ballistic missile launch and not another hackneyed crime procedural that will get cancelled after the first season anyway.

To their credit, many shows are conscientious about their waste, particularly cooking shows, which tend to donate their unused food to local charities. But residents in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood became extremely annoyed this week after The Chi, created by Master of None’s Lena Waithe, rolled into town, set up a fake corner deli (in a neighborhood with little by way of grocery stores) and, at the conclusion of filming, pitched an entire fake-store’s worth of packaged food and household supplies into a dumpster.

Definitely need more black creators, writers, directors, etc. involved with tv and movies and especially black centered stories.

But when I David Simon was white you just gotta realize it takes someone that simply is dedicated, will do the research, and cares about the story. So I'm not immediately against somebody white running a show or w/e. You'll see if the person is right for it sooner than later.

With that said, wasting all that food in that community is just plain dumb. No matter the color of ya skin.

But the hood was what made the show so fascinating.
