And the rejection can totally happen. Some people can be like that where they have their group and don't need to expand it anymore. People have even ask me to bike and I sort of just like riding by myself but mostly cause I don't want to have to wait up or speed up for the person next to m. But you kind of need to take it like dating I guess. If you feel like you guys hit it off, then ask them out. Haha.report back to us on the results.

im the type to enjoy meeting new ppl but understand everyone isnt the same

Always forget to post here but this is my set up. I know nothing about bikes. Anyone care to give me some info on the model of the bike. Just know it’s a specialized. I bought this used for $400 and been riding since early June. Anyone have recommendation for a good comfortable seat got a long ride coming up and the current one after an hour is such a pain! Also some padded shorts would be good to grab. Something affordable Thanks guys!

Looks like a 2005 Allez Triple (does it have 3 gears on the front?). MSRP $700 new. I'd say you got a decent deal assuming everything is in good condition (looks good from the photo), although you could've gotten more bike for the same price but you would have to put some work into repairs. I think Allez is their entry-level road bike. Which still puts it in a pretty good class of bikes.
I'd also like to give myself props. When I was trying to search the year it was, my first guess was 2005 and sure enough that paint job came up on google image search.

As far as bibs, I tend to recommend The Black Bibs for a first budget friendly bib.
They tend to sell out of sizes, but restock pretty frequently on the basic colors. I like their stuff for the price. If you are willing to spend a little more the Castelli entry level stuff is excellent as well.
As for seats im a fan of the Brooks Cambrium ( I have the 15 and 17) series. They have always been comfy for me. I like Fizik seats as well. Hard to recommend specific models, because everyones body is different, but those two brands tend to get repeat buyers.

Definitely get bike shorts. I had the same issue and the shorts relatively solved that issue but I haven't ridden past 2 hour mark.Always forget to post here but this is my set up. Decathlon shorts are great value - I’ve had a few pairs and they’re pretty close to the premium ones I’ve had. Ignore the really cheap ones which have a really basic pad and you can’t go wrong.
Bibs is the way to go too - you won’t look back.

Wrenching away at the NJS frame, and the damn bottom bracket is seized onto the drive side. Already removed the Sram crank on my bike in prep to throw the dura ace's on.

This is my boy's bike and i didn't wanna risk it since he doesn't know i'm even doing this. I sprayed it with PB blaster, and threw the wheels on to put it on the floor for more leverage. He was gonna do it, but watching him work is like watching paint dry. I have way more experience working hands on with tools, so i just went ahead with it.
The same thing happens with cars, learned the hard way when i threw on coilovers a few months ago.
I already have a breaker bar, but it's a 1/2in drive and not 3/8in like the bb removal tool. I had to go out and buy a socket adapter set.
The Sram crank that was on my bike is going to my friend's bro in law for his single speed bike.

So dumb question, how do i clean all these components that have grease? I wanna clean out my BB shell before i put on the brand new BB. I also wanna clean out the splines/threads of the crank arms/bolts since there's so much dirt/grime stuck in the grease.
Do i just try and wipe the excess grease off first with a paper towel? And then go in with soapy water and an old toothbrush?

Wheels on is definitely the way to get a BB out too - you can get a lot more force on a long bar that way.

Yea learned this when I was trying to get mine out. You just cant get the same force on a stand.

You talking about my bike or the njs one? My boy came thru to pick it up yesterday. He took it to the bike shop today to get a headset overhaul.

my inability to be patient, and inexperience in the sport has cost me more than I wanted, but riding is too much fun.
I’m in the middle of my first long ride, came to grab a coffee. I have to stay in the biggest chainring up front because if I shift down to the lower two my chain gets caught in between. I’m not sure if it’s user error, but I just had this thing serviced at my local shop. At this point, I could’ve just purchased a nice entry level bike.

Could be indeed incorrectly. It is something you can do yourself as well. Park Tool has a pretty good break down and video on how to adjust it.

If you got it serviced, I wonder if they have some sort of guarantee and you can take it back and get that fixed.
