Yeah I mean a precedent was already kinda set with Kobes. They were lining the outlets and weren't relatively selling all that well in 2020 until he died and everything basically started reselling instantly (and that was a bit pre-COVID as well). I remember StockX actually banned selling Kobes in the days following his death... Weird times.
