this right here. super easy and delicious.

smoked berry cobbler
on everything this was so fire and even easier to make. Used oak and cherry wood. Went more subtle on the smoke flavor cause I wasn’t confident but ima try and hit it with more smoke next time.

We had out office potluck today. Made spinach gratin.

Probably going to watch Plains Trains and Automobiles sometime this week.

I have vague memories of that thread lol.

Honestly it's always a time to shine since so many people phone it in.

They just put up the potluck sign up @ my job today.

Per usual, I’ll be passing because I work with many disgusting *** people. If these folks live like they do here at work…YIKES. :smh:

Won’t be at my home base this year so no turkey fry

Still doing a lot of the cooking and strongly leaning towards making duck instead of oven turkey

Sides tbd. Some combo of sweet potatoes, potatoes au gratin, Mac, and greens

Chocolate pecan pie for dessert

I don't think I've eaten a bite of turkey the last 6-7 thanksgivings. I enjoy all the other food way more.

Eating, watching football and drinking. Then proceeding to catch a late afternoon flight from Dallas to LA to go to my parents house and do more of the same that evening.

It'll be the usual for me and my ole lady. We hit up my grandmothers crib for early afternoon dinner and a football game. Then on to her moms for the evening. Beautiful part is everyone is within 5 minutes of each other. Also, thinking about hitting up a cigar lounge with the fellas that evening.

One week away. We finally have some cool weather in the south. I'm buying the turkey tomorrow as well as the stuff to make sides. Trying to avoid that Saturday rush.

I'm in charge of deep frying the turkeys this year. Ended up getting an electric fryer to get the job done. I didn't want to go through the hassle of using propane.

Honestly one of the best cooking devices I own. I've been frying 5-6 years now.

Some tips: Pat the bird completely dry. Use a dry rub - salt, black pepper, garlic power, onion power, paprika, thyme, rosemary and my secret ingredient two packets of Sazon seasoning. Rub it into the skin and under the skin.

Don't bother with butter on the outside. Flavor injections do not do much either. Dry rubs seem to work best. Lower it into the oil slowly. 4 minutes per pound. 15lb bird is done in 1 hour.
