mannn lucky... we have to purchase a card for $1, and then put money on it, but thats only at the library, at the other places u have to havethese things called bevo bucks... its just a hassle.. lol

I've had both and the brother is by far the better printer. inkjet printers are just a trap by the makers to get you to buy ink. I usually go through twoto three packs of paper before i need to replace toner in the laser printer. also the quality of prints will be better.

are brother cartridges easy to find?? can u tell me why its a better choice over the HP?

I actually have the Brother 2170 wireless printer (the wireless version of the 2140) and it works wonders.

Whatever you do, buy a laser jet printer. Inkjets will kill you, unless you use the fast drafted mode everytime you print.

get hp. i have a multi function brother and when ever one color ink runs out it wont work until that one color is refilled. i pay like somwhere between 10-17for a single color cartridge

My next printer may likely be a laser jet for that very reason. Even though I mostly print text and almost always print in fast draft mode.

OP: Do some research online whenever you decide which printer to get. I have an HP and it's great though I'd like the cartridge to last longer. Be waryas some printers (forgot model, know it was a Canon though) apparently mix color ink with black so that you'll have to continually replace the cartridge, even when you're just printing in black.

I recently purchased a lexmark x7675. I love this thing! It does everything I need it to do. It's wireless and super easy to install. Plus it came withfull cartridges already loaded not just starter ones. It is a little out of your price range (I bought it for$100) but I've seen it for $85 shipped frombuy.com
