It's common practice for men to offer women drinks to loosen them up. I'm not talking about wasted drunk where they are passing out but everyone knows alcohol disinhibits you even just tipsy.

No, even if I had the money to do so I wouldn't. I would instead make sure to hit UK the next time I went to Europe.

She already is planning to come to the US,, just trying to expedite the process through encouragement.
