I fold mine for the same exact reason. I used to hang them up and noticed if I didn't wear the shirt for a while it would become almost unusable from the amount the neck had stretched out.

I dont get how yall dont care bout creases after wearin folded shirts?

At least no creases if you hang em and I didnt notice collars being stretched all these years
