What shoes is everyone using to lift?

I've been an idiot and have been using my Flyknit Trainers for everything. My Romaleos should arrive this week though (very excited!) and I'm going to start using my NB Minimus again for deadlifts.

What shoes is everyone using to lift?

I've been reading that wrestling shoes are the way to go? Thoughts? Models that are good?

Can't go wrong with wrestling shoes. I use Asics Matflex. I alternate between those and chucks.
 
ive been gyming in some flights and its been really comfortable for me. got a nice base and a little tilt to how i like it
 
Just got back from LA Fitness, there was approximately 12 people in the entire gym, awesome.....:smokin
 
That's how my gym was today when I left at noon. Granted, it was mother's day, but there was maybe 2 dozen people in the entire gym.
 
No preworkout for me, just a banana. Ive been lifting in either chucks or some random Nike Lunars I bought last year

Adipowers for Olympic lifts (snatch, clean and jerks, squats).
Nanos for working out.
Vans for deadlifts.
Nanos or free runs for running.

Definitely a challenge to workout on an empty stomach. Been working out in th AM again. No pre-workout but definitely need coffee. Almond butter sandwich or a smoothie (protein or veggie/fruit) seems to be doing the trick. Nothing heavy.

Lifting and running in Air Revis. Hard to beat an overall gym shoe for $40 that allows you go do all of the following comfortably.

finishing up my deload week by not working out the whole weekend.
ready to get back on it tomorrow. probably going to modify my PPL. maybe i'll change my session time from 8am to 10am and try an almond butter sandwich (just bought a new jar tonight for my son's lunch) about 2 hours pre. i think part of it is that a preworkout doesn't hit as hard with food in the stomach so if i eat, i usually feel less energetic for my workout.
 
I drink a shake and a banana or slice of bread before my workout (6:30am)

I may need to grab sonething else for max energy

Fats before lifting??

It won't digest quick enough.

I remember going to lift after drinking a smoothie with avocado and scoop of Pb in it. I had no energy for some reason.

Bowl of cereal and a banana and 2 water bottles is my go to if I have to workout right after waking up.
 
Anyone got the Eastbay Evapor tights? Wondering how they compare in quality/feel to the Nike Pro joints

I can't vouch for the tights but i have their boxer briefs and their evapor long sleeve shirts and i love both of them. I have 4 of the long sleeves and wear them under my work out shirts and they keep me dry and i sweat a lot. Thier boxer briefs hold their shape better then the under armor ones i have. I'd like a pair of their running tights for lifting, its next on my check list.

As for shoes. I run cardio every day. I warm up with 1-2 miles and i finish usually on the stairmaster or run another mile. So i will wear my Free 3.0's most of the time. I like squatting in my free run 5.0s since they have a bit of a heal compared to my 3.0s. I use my flyknit trainers as well as my lunar flyknits mixed in too. Lunar's for longer running days. And flyknit trainers for random days.

Next on my list is hyperfeel trainers or new 5.0 trainers. If there was ever a flyknit 3.0 trainer, or a 1.0 for men i think i would try them too. Like most on deadlift days i want to be as low to the ground as possible and squat days i want a bit of a heal but not too much cushioning. But all my shoes need to be runnable. So you won't ever catch me in the gym in chucks or baskeball shoes.

On another note -- brand new 75K sq ft LA Fitness finally opened in Towson MD. Checked it out Sat/Sun this weekend. So much nicer than all their other clubs around. WIll def be lifting at this location more often now.
