Stay/Get Back In Shape.... Vol 2.0

that vid on the previous page is crazy. The height of the plyometric jump lifts are impressive.

It's worth noting that I use the gym on an Air Force base for free so I'm not paying for a membership or anything. I guess that make a littledifference.

those adjustable weight dumbbells suck

a full db set can be expensive though. mayb e try a used set on ebay?

Had CrossFit this morning...

4 reps for time:
400 meter run
20 pullups
20 air squats
20 situps
20 burpees

I'm sore, exhausted, beat... everything. Almost wanted to quit because of this.

Yep - the whole thing is timed. It's not a question of "can you finish" rather than "how quickly can you finish"...

I should also add that the whole thing sucked because our warmup was 55 box-jumps for time, and yesterday I was working on my 1rm max front squat, so my legswere just burning.

2 at a time 3x a day with food is what i do... ...a lotta people half-dose it to save $$ though, you could do that too, 1 cap a day 3x a day.
That's exactly what I had in mind.

Thanks.

no prob....glad you got it, AOR products are truly top-notch stuff. no other multi comes close, although source natural's "life force" multi ispretty damn good and only costs like $11 / bottle.

i actually gotta get some more ortho-core now that i think about it.....i'm down to my last bottle and i only have maybe a week's worth left.

Yeah, I heard nothing but good things about it, especially on BB.

I was taking Animal Paks for like 3 years, and I remember you saying it was garbage and I was just like

.

It was time for me to change it up anyway.

How affective is the ab roller (the one with a wheel)?

I was thinking of buying one. I also do other ab workouts, but also want to try the ab roller.

!%*%+ is wack. Only works the top half of your abdominals, if that.

this is true. i hate that gym. but at $10 a month it's the only thing i can afford right now. sometimes im working out my chest with the barbells and just barely drop them. and the stupid thing goes off. i wanna kick homeboy in the face that rings that alarm

BB.com goes in on PF

Encouraging stupidity and stereotypes is never good. Also, how could you possibly ever get in shape there???

I'll stick with World Gym. I pay more, but have lots of amenities and its 24hrs.

Got another quick question. IS it better to run before or after working out with weights/dumbbells? And how long should one run?

Really? I think it's one of the best ab exercises I've ever done?

After. I run no longer than 30 minutes.

Then your doing the wrong ab exercises.

Even if you manage to get through that workout, you wont recover in time to be near 100% after only 1 day's rest.

You are going to have to split those exercises up.

Maybe bench and squat on day 1.

Deadlifts and rows on day 2.

Pull-ups and power cleans on day 3.

If you want to do those exercises multiple times a week, it'll be much more manageable. However, you may have to add one more lifting session a week.

Day 1: Upper body....bench, military press, pull-ups, barbell rows
Day 2: Lower body....squats, deadlifts OR power cleans, lunges
Day 3: No lifting
Day 4: Upper body
Day 5: Lower body
Day 6: no lifting
Day 7: no lifting
good lookin out, i was about to try what i had up

What are you doing then?

You keep that up and you can say bye bye to the cartilage in your knees.

edit: I should add the caveat that you shouldn't do it regularly unless you have access (and make us) of good rehab facilities and rehab specialists.

The ab roller works your entire abdominal region as well as your lower back. I think that it's a good ab exercise but there are way better ab exercises outthere. After a while you're gonna need to start doing weighted ab exercises to challenge yourself.

CrossFit is serious but not for me

i might try it out though, its expensive.
