Now that I think of it, the only thing that kept me interested was the fact that it was in the star wars universe, a continuance of the saga. Go figure...

midichlorians were the scientific reasoning behind force users and some people wanted to keep it a more spiritual thing is what I took it as. I read Lucas wanted to use them as the scientific explanation of how some use the force and either Jedi or sith would be the spiritual and metaphysical motivation behind how it was channeled.
I watched a behind the scenes vid on The Phantom Menace and it was better than the movie.
Crazy how all that stuff comes together. Seein them drive around in the back of a Toyota practicing Jar Jar movements and filming was cool. Imagine drivin past them and seein that.

Kathleen "killed Star Wars"
Just curious, Transformers and Fast and Furious are pure garbage movies that still rake in millions due to people watching for unintentional comedy or because of the general stupidity of the average movie watcher. What does revenue have to do with quality of the movie?
People will go watch Star Wars regardless of how bad it is. Attack of The Clones should've bombed after how bad The Phantom Menace was, but people showed up anyway.

Its one thing to call them crybabies and want them to keep doing it Sidious style. I did that too with prequel haters but you cant just outright ignore it all and call it great content like some ignorant person.
The prequels were not as bad as some would have you think so watching those rants entertained me. They were still bad though.
From the outside looking in, the overratin of this franchise is catching up to it.

Star Wars initially gave off the feeling of some vague mysticism with the force, the dark side and light side. Its part of what set it firmly as sci-fi fantasy, a space opera.
George's prequels and the introduction gave it a feeling more of a science based sci-fi. That period of time the movie is set in made it seem to me like some poor Star Trek imitating.
Midichlorians existing in all things and they got some thing to check how much you have in ya body determining how strong you are in the force was unsettling to hardcore SW fans.
Also reminds me of DBZ's "Power level over 9,000"
Basically what they did for Anakin.

Might finally make that jump and become a trekky. They seem to honor their fandom even though I’ve heard about drama between next gen and voyager fans.

Note, TFA was praised, tho admitted as a ANH rehash, it was still in fact, praised.
Rogue One was absolutely beloved.
And NOW there is some clashing over TLJ.

I shall try to explain based on what i've read
Apparently Lor San Tekka was an old friend of Luke's and they did lots of Jedi research together. The first Jedi Temple had been lost for many years but apparently Luke and Tekka discovered its location at some point. Lor San Tekka just ASSUMED that Luke had gone to that planet and apparently the only navigational chart to the planet itself existed in the archives of the empire, which Lor San Tekka ended up having.
It was literally a guess
At least I think - the movies don't really bother to expound
Also - grumpy PTSD Luke aside - his actual contribution to the Resistance effort in NO WAY meet the actual heavy price paid by the Resistance to obtain the map and actually find him lolol

Terrible acting aside, the majority of those movies were complete wastes of time to me. 9 year old Anakin, pod racing, Jar Jar, Anakin and Padme romance scenes, 99% of the Trade Federation and fake politics scenes, etc. are all cringeworthy and added nothing memorable to the story
I thought Rogue One and TFA were enjoyable on the surface but they're nothing new. One is a A New Hope remake with a completely unbelievable lightsaber duel at the end (Rey surviving and then BEATING Kylo Ren while using a lightsaber for the first time in her life....), while the other is just a fleshing out of an event we already know happened.
I'm not even a fan of Star Wars as a whole, but I do like the concept of it, so I usually check out the new movies that drop every few years.
