Not sure if I should see this tbh. Seems like old Star Wars fans despise it for the most part. New or casual fans like it. The Force is telling me to stay away but I might just go to see it because I haven't been to the movies in a while and it's Star Wars. I've seen 4 SW films in the theaters (I, III, IV, VI).

Lame hates the movie because Rey isn't Luke's. The most predictable thing ever. He would be crowning the hell out of it if they added one single line, "Luke is your father"![]()
I admire his passion about the franchise and I know there are some fans that hated it, but I have to disagree about his rant about the force. They make it sound like they ignored it when it fact it played a major role IMO.
Agreed with the Rey & Luke moment and I didn’t even mentioned that cause that pissed me off so much. That is Anakin Skywalkers lightsaber. No mention of where Luke’s lightsaber is. Yoda was awesome but where is Obi-wan where is Anakin? Should of had all 3 there to help LukeI studied this film like a hawk and it’s such a hollow film masked with nostalgia and half way fan service. There are things that I absolutely LOVE about the film but when you truly look beneath the surface you’re just like what is the point. As much as I wanted (and the story needed) for Rey to be Luke’s daughter, I could have easily accepted it if that wasn’t the case and there is a coherent reason behind it. There is literally NONE. To the point where you can’t watch The Force Awakens without just cringing. Rian took that absolutely beautiful scene of Rey and Luke meeting coming face to face and turned it into slapstick comedy. And that’s my problem with the film, it does it’s hardest to essentially “make fun” of Star Wars. It’s legends, it’s expectations, everything is made in a “nana nana boo, this is what you think is cool? Here, look at puppet Yoda. Get in your feels one last time before I tear it all down”. The movies whole tone is meant to break away from everything that built up to it. It’s so condescending to the people who are invested and love these films....but hey we saw Kylo and Rey fight back to back on a Hype Williams video set. Cool right?

i want to know why no backstory on snoke but we get a backstory on the Asian girl and her ties to the casino planet
That actually was pretty dope, though.![]()
they gave this guy his own trilogy hahhahahahSee I can’t front, it was ill. Especially with Snoke’s body chilling in the background and John Williams’ trumpets blaring.... I understand what Rian was trying to do but for everything he did right he immediately follow it with 10 wrong things
they gave this guy his own trilogy hahhahahah
Audience score for The Last Jedi is indicative that this movie is trash.
The Metacritic user score is at 5.3.![]()
Again, if you think Rey simply comes from nowhere, and that's it, it's final, you aren't really paying that much attention.

I'm probably going to like this film. Seems like traditionalists dislike the movie and casuals like this movie just fine
