Blue Leader (Garven Dreis)'s character being a bit more fleshed out in the novelization than the movie was a nice surprise. That's dope as hell. I want one now. I have an X-Wing model kit laying around because I want to get it painted as Blue Leader (from the ANH drafts), but this would actually be pretty cool.

Wait, is that a screengrab from one of the R1 trailers? I don't remember that shot- must've passed by pretty quickly...I wanna read that later this week whenever I finish catalyst just to get more into the RO/ANH flow.Blue Leader (Garven Dreis)'s character being a bit more fleshed out in the novelization than the movie was a nice surprise. That's dope as hell. As far as the Blue Leader X-Wing goes, here's a pretty dope article about it. Pretty short but basically, Red Squadron was originally Blue Squadron but the blue detail would get lost from the bluescreen, so they changed them to red. The very first X-Wing built was Blue Leader but that model ended up being changed to Wedge's Red Two. Good news is it looks like they're throwing in an homage to them in Rogue One but I'm getting too nerdy getting excited by this so I'm gonna relax

The ANH novelization is interesting because, like other early Star Wars novels (like the Han Solo Adventures trilogy), it just FEELS different than the bulk of the Star Wars novels which were written after Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. Yes, some wacky stuff happened in a few EU books, but overall, most of them following Zahn had a lot of unifying elements that made it feel like the same universe. Even Lucas himself changed a lot from his early days, and you can see that reflected in some of the minor elements in this book.
What else was in the Black Series wave with Revan and Sabine? My GameStop had 0 in stock and 0 en route so it's time to check Walmart. Just want to know what else is in the wave before I go.
Had Leia been replaced with a Royal Guard or Lando or something, it may have been the g.o.a.t. wave. Be that as it may, Wave 9 is still pretty damn good.

Missed the pre-order on BBTS for Sabine and Revan. Scooped the Obi just in case.
Anywhere else I can preorder?
Been running all over NYC looking for them. Think Geek on 34th street said they had them last week.
I actually enjoy hunting them down lol

I enjoy hunting them down too but I was never able to find Ahsoka in the wild I remember that feeling of finally seeing Captain Phasma, Shock Trooper, General Hux, and Jango Fett on the pegs after lengthy searches. So satisfying because those four were really hard to come by for me at least.
As frustrating as it is, it's the best part of the game I still instinctively grab Jango Fett and Spider Gwen (Marvel Legends) whenever I see them because they were so hard to find, but then slowly put them back down when I remember I already have them

I was about to get another Venom, but decided to give someone else a shot at it.
Semi kicking myself for that......
It was going to happen at the Star Wars Celebration event in Anaheim, CA. There, a panel had been scheduled featuring directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank and each was going to talk about their upcoming Star Wars standalone movies. However, Trank dropped out of the panel just a few days earlier, and a week after the event, he was removed from his film. (There was never an official reason given for Trank leaving the project, but most believe it had to do with rumored problems on the set of his Fantastic Four film.)
The panel ended up focusing only on Edwards’ film, which at the time didn’t even have a title. It was in that room where the title Rogue One was first revealed, and a short teaser was shown. That movie is now less than a month away.
A new article from Entertainment Weekly reveals that was the same plan for Trank’s film and that film was going to be about Boba Fett. According to the magazine, “It came so close to being officially announced, Lucasfilm even prepped a teaser reel to show at Star Wars Celebration in spring of 2015, sources tell EW. At the last minute, the split with Trank backburnered the project.”
To anyone who has been following the Star Wars standalone films, this isn’t exactly a surprise. The prevailing rumor has always been Trank’s film was about Boba Fett. But the fact a teaser was made and would have screened is incredibly disappointing.
Here’s the good news. That film is not yet off the table. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy told EW that after the release of Rogue One, she and her company will decide what Star Wars films come after 2019's Episode IX.
“There are [possible movies] that we have been talking a lot about,” Kennedy told EW. “But we are planning to sit down in January, since we will have had The Force Awakens released, now Rogue One, and we’ve finished shooting Episode VIII. We have enough information where we can step back a little bit and say, What are we doing? What do we feel is exciting? And what are some of the things we want to explore?”
That means it’s not certain that a new Saga trilogy will follow Episode IX. Nor will all the movies have to tie into already known stories.
“That’s a conversation going on right now, too,” Kennedy said. “I have to honestly tell you, could we [do nothing but standalones]? Sure. But I don’t know. We are looking at all of that.”
She continued.
“I think [the idea of new stories] is exciting for fans,” Kennedy adds. “It’s certainly exciting as a filmmaker, the notion that we can explore these stories that genuinely have a beginning, middle and an end, and don’t necessarily have to tie into something specific.”
