Not sure if posted before but a cool spoiler from a scene with Rey if it turns out to be true and other details from the movie.

“The mission to take down the First Order is underway! After invading the Starkiller Base, one member of the Resistance has split from her group and found herself in a massive room full of First Order soldiers. Completely surrounded by Stormtroopers with blasters and Knights of Ren with lightsabers, she seems to be totally outnumbered. Unfortunately for her enemies, though, they’ve made a big mistake: it’s not about the strength of the weapon, but the strength of the warrior that wields it.”

Love Kylo's mask. At the risk of saying this in this thread I could never take Vader's mask seriously. **** are you wearing boy?

Vader's mask was made to look like a Nazi helmet with a skull for a face. His name is German for "Dark Father". The Empire is a lot like the Nazis. Jedi or "Jews" have been slain or are in hiding. Even his overall shape looks like the tip of a spear when his cape rests. His look is supposed to make you think of death.

To design Vader’s infamous black helmet, Mollo looked to the black, shiny headgear Nazis wore during WWII. He then added a gas mask, a motorcycle suit, black leather boots, and a monk’s cloak found in the Middle Ages department of a costume warehouse. Darth Vader’s helmet isn’t the only German army reference in the films: his army of Stormtroopers are named after specialist German soldiers in World War I.

Star Wars is basically "What if the Nazis won (in an alternate dimension... a long time ago... in a Galaxy far away).

I thought all of that was obvious :lol

His helmet still looks ridiculous and does not make me think of death in the least bit. Imo Kylo's helmet does a much better job of that.

Darth Vaders headgear is actually mostly modeled after a "Kabuto" which is a Japanese Samurai helmet. A huge inspiration for the original movies was a movie called "Seven Samurai" by Akira Kurosawa. You can see the inspiration all over from the laser swords to the Jedi robes. Vader is basically dressed exactly like a samurai.

You're right about the samurai helmet. Just researched it and I guess I was wrong. That's what getting it from sources other than the creator does. Meh. I'll take my L.
