I think people being spread too thin having to create a product is the problem.

The weekly episodes and the length doesn't matter, if the quality is good.

Disney's product looks like they're in a time crunch to meet deadlines, because they have space to fill. They treat it like they do their movies. September 2025 they need to meet that date and it looks like it.

If they are shot with that intention. Shooting a movie and then breaking it into 25 min episodes without considering when to end each episode...or if there is a beginning, middle and end to each episode....eh....

Like why would anyone do that..? It kills whatever the story is.

At the same time you had a lot of ppl that definitely expected the entire story to play out in like 2 or 3 episodes which is also crazy.

IF disney is going to do this just drop all the episodes at once so it's not a big deal. Otherwise...eh...

Disney in danger. Heard park attendance is down. Thankfully MCU is kind of rebounding with X-Men 97 and Deadpool and Wolverine. Maybe the less is more of Mando and Grogu and Andor will help stop the sliding.

inside out 2 has made $1.6b so far and add alien: romulus to the list of wins this year

Disney...Jedi, or should I say Acolyte Mind-Tricked you all.

1. Fake Cancel the show.
2. Bring out all the outrage over the cancellation.
3. Bring back the show.

The “Disney is in trouble” narratives people love to put out are funny.

I don’t think many appreciate just how vast the company’s business portfolio is. The Star Wars and Marvel IP alone is worth more than a lot of companies as a whole. And that’s not even mentioning the OG Disney stuff.

Imagine the backlash if the fan wetdream casting of Revan was used for the Acolyte and then
was portrayed as a potential child predator that gets force choked to death at the end.

The incels would burn Disneyland to the ground.

Nobody really speaks on it anymore but I definitely think that shooting everything and then cutting it into sub 30 min episodes and dropping them once a week was a terrible decision by Disney. Dragging the mystery out so long for no real reason turned a lot of ppl off. The way some of the episodes ended....smh. it's like Disney sabotaged the show themselves when it comes to that. That's not something Leslye should get the blame for. She had dope ideas and they tried hard to ruin it IMO.

I really hope skeleton crew is what I think it will be. Please no weird **** Disney.

If they're going to do the same **** please just drop all the episodes at once so we get the story.
Streaming services don't drop all the episodes at once because they want you to stay subscribed over the course of 2-3 months. If they give you all 8-13 eps up front then you're going to binge and cancel immediately after. Netflix does the same thing with Stranger Things, bringing the season into two parts released months apart to keep you paying a subscription fee.

These services don't exist for the storytelling or entertainment lol. If that was the case the studio would just put out 3 movies in the theaters and call it a day. They don't give a **** about the storytelling aspect, it's about the algorithm and what will keep you hooked.

That said, they did Acolyte dirty. Season 1 was a cool story idea executed fairly clumsily, but it had some dope characters (Qimir is the best original non-movie character yet). Disney+'s need to drag out season 1 so they could tease the Skywalker saga tie-in to season 2 kneecapped the show from the jump.

If we're all being honest, we all guessed the Plageuis angle and immediately knew we weren't getting the whole backstory in season 1. If that was the plan it would have been a limited series.

The word for today is: vitriol.

The show wasn’t good. I watched every episode. I gave it a chance to the very end. I’m literally in the minority that watched it and the majority that didn’t think it was worth a second season. The only regret is that the only good part (the stranger) won’t be utilized to their potential.

I couldn’t watch the whole thing after she disclaimed she lives in the bubble of her own reality. It was one part low ratings, one part poor reviews and maybe a little of the “woke backlash.”

its a ******* excuse. shes a ******* joke.

calling everyone racist and alt right just because they didnt like something is insane. shes ******* nuts.

it got cancelled cuz it sucked. bad writing. bad acting. costumes looked ******* homemade. brought in ki adi mundi and ****** up prequel canon for no got damn reason.

grand opening grand closing. hire people who actually know star wars. its not ******* hard.

Na she's not wrong at all.
I'm not digging through the posts or the vids but they're out there.

The show had flaws, most of which came from Disney's choices which I mentioned in my last post...but it was blatantly obvious that there were a lot of ppl doing **** for clicks and that a lot of them were prejudiced and sexist. Two (or more) things can be true...

The show was doomed before episode 1. She kept it a buck.

Also, I know how streaming works but what disney did with *this* show was...just a really bad decision. It would have been better for then to at least drop 2 episodes a week OR all of the episodes at once.

The mystery wasn't that deep, the actions of some of the jedi...I dunno...story progression was eh...they coulda had 6 episodes instead and dropped 2 at a time and most of the problems would have been solved.
They could have 100% let it be about the sith instead of interfering and it would have played out better...

Oh well.

The cannon wasn't ****** up and the lady obviously knew star wars...a lot more so than the ppl crying online about it.

First of all a lot of the **** ppl screamed about wasn't cannon in the first place so we can start there.

Secondly, star was has broken cannon before so even if she did, which she didn't, it wouldn't be the first time it was done.
