In Empire, I thought Yoda was gonna turn out to be evil with the

"You will be, you willll beeee..."

He was evil sounding right there.

my man @niketalk23  do you ever go into a thread and not get into it with an other NTer??

My main gripes with the prequels are:

- all the boring diplomatic political stuff. zZzZzZzZzZzZz
- obiwan & anakin's relationship didn't seem fleshed out enough. a lot of the time they were off doing their own thing.
- Anakin's turn to the darkside is too sudden imo
- Hayden Christiansen (sp?) is terrible and does not possess the gravitas needed to portray an iconic villain.

That being said, AotC is guilty pleasure and RotS is solid.

The political stuff is enjoyable for me because it shows the genius of Sidious.

-Sidious used a darkside former Jedi Knight (Dooku) to start the clone production with the order 66 program installed into their brain.
-Made the senate and Jedi believe it was started by the Republic, for the Republic.
-He then starts a fake war using the Trade Federation's tax on Naboo using a "separatist" army he also created.
-In the senate he manipulates Amidala to force Chancelor Velorum out knowing he'd get voted in.
-He gets voted in as Chancellor.
-He befriend's the Jedi and allows them become the commanders of his clone army which goes against the Jedi ideals.
-He then reveals himself to Anakin knowing he has darkness in him, knowing that although he'd turn him in, but eventually turn to the darkside because he wanted to know how to save Padme.
-Then when he gets discovered and attacked by Windu, he alienates the Jedi and turns the galaxy against them and are seen are traitors. Then ordesr the clone army to execute what they've had programed from the beginning, even though they all respected the Jedi.
-He dissolves the senate in his time of crisis and thus giving himself full control of the galaxy all while eliminating the Jedi at the same time.

This is some amazing stuff. Why people don't like it I don't understand? What did you guys want to see? Sidious with a huge army just go from planet to planet just taking the galaxy by force?

To see what Palpatine did in the OT is amazing.

Hayden's is a negative though, To think DiCaprio was up for the role :{ ..His turn to the darkside is sudden and that's due to the fact that there were so many moving pieces, there wasn't enough time.

I havent watched the prequels in 10 years (for obvious reasons) but I'll probably rewatch the series when it comes closer to pt.7

I just remember Hayden was horribly miscast and his acting was even worse. It was no shock his career never took off...

hayden wasnt great but no actor would have been able to give a good performance with the ****** writing and all that green screen

Hello fellow star wars enthusiasts

i finished watching star wars for the first time last year (28 years old ) when i got it as a gift for christmas. my KK knew i never watched star wars and she said she just had to buy me the blu ray set. i was stoked when i opened it and it was the complete blu ray set... onto the movie..

i decided to watch it in the order of 1-6

a lot of my friends hated me for this and even the one that got me it said don't do it , it is a star wars sin

but i decided not to listen and not many get to watch star wars in the order its supposed to be in.

i was very impressed with the movie.. here are my few thoughts

the animation in episode l was awesome as well as a great kickoff to the saga . very disappointed on how they finished off darth maul he was a great villain ... also could not stand that annoying lizard

episode 2 - was just so dang terrible ... it was very much like spiderman 3 boring sappy love story and this is where the hate for Hayden probably came from..boba fett was pretty cool though

episode 3 -
pimp.gif
 my favorite of the 6.. the fight / the heel turns / the younglings / greivous / hayden turning into darth / the fight scene with obi wan was awesome probably my favorite very climatic/obi wans speech after he whooped anakin
eek.gif
/ hayden did a very good job in this one. its almost like when a Face wrestler sucks and they turn him heel and he flourishes thats what i seen in hayden.. i like how they showed the death star to introduce for the upcoming movies.

episode 4 - even though a lot of people say the animation was bad in the original star wars from what they had to work with it was NOT THAT BAD.. loved the intro to the deathstar that thing is a beast! love how luke was found with the exact set as where he was left off in episode 3..thought that battle with obi 1 and vader was going to be epic yet obi wan just layed down.. come on don't hype up and let down after your previous battle in episode 3 haha

episode 5- snoozefest  not much going on but great addition on the story telling and character building ..  lando was super cheesy and a snitch haha

episode 6 - my second favorite of the 6 ... the vader face turn was awesome i like how they slowly built it up from episode 5... don't hate me on this but i love how they used hayden with the fallen JEDIS at the end of the movie..

The breakdown of the politics is nice but lord knows much of that is lost in the **** storm of episode 1 :lol

Pretty weird, person after person, after person, no one praising the prequels. But we are the minority. :lol

That said, I completely did enjoy Palpatine and his manipulation of everything.
Absolutely agree.

That part is for kids tho, right? 8o

This issue with that is, its SUPPOSED to be Anakin Skywalker's story, yet he's overshadowed big time.

This story, of cinema's greatest villain of all time, Darth Vader/Anakin, and who exactly did Anakin kill in THREE movies???????

Random Sand People, an 82 year old man, and a bunch of kids.

Obi Wan tells the story in 1977, Vader betrayed, and murdered your father. They hunted down and destroyed the Jedi.

15 years later, he has clones kill the Jedi, and the only Jedi Anakin faces kicks the **** outta him. :{

"Anakin's story"

:{

He kills a few nobodies, upstaged by Palpatine, gets his *** kicked by Obi Wan, and turns to the dark side cuz of some nightmares. Darth, *******, Vader.

George gives us Maul. Kills him after 15 minutes of screen time. Jar Jar Binks gets over 2 hours across 3 films.

Creates this born of the force Anakin, yet a Jedi master can't sense him standing right by him, needs a blood sample. These are just lazy, stupid plot points and filler. Born of the force, but a MASTER can't sense him for miles. Come on.

Palpatines plan was so great, he knew an 8 year old would destroy his blockade. .......

Mighty, mighty, mighty Jedi order. Killed by clones. I'm supposed to be ok with that. Luke wasn't even a fully trained Jedi, took down Jabba's entire network. The force allows them to sense danger, deflect blasters, trained warriors, Luke wasn't even fully prepped.
The entire order, well trained, dozens of masters, killed in a 3 minute montage.

The guy had three ******* movies. 9 hours worth of screen time. Anakin was dark for 25 minutes, long enough to get his *** handed to him. Jedi order dead inside 5 minutes. Mexican jumping bean Yoda. Roger Roger droids. Gun Guns. So many God damn gun guns.

The story of Anakin.

The clone wars. Rise of Vader. Legendary stuff. Stuff that was built up over 20 years.

Lucas needed a group of others to create TWO different cartoon series to fill in as many blanks as possible. :{

Has nothing to do with what I wanted. Or me havin an open mind. I sat thru two pointless ****** movies before Sith finally reminded me that hey, George can do some things. He managed to salvage a decent close. But it was no where near enough.

The story of Anakin, on screen, over a decade of time to prep-polish a story, descent to the dark side, kills a few kids, and we're told, fill in the 18 year gap on your own. We won't show him hunting and killing Jedi. Use your imagination.

9 hours across 3 movies. But use your imagination for everything he foreshadowed in 19 God damned 77. ****

:{

Dude... Chill :lol... It's between 2-5AM, don't get so worked up... You didn't enjoy the prequels, that's OK... I happened to enjoy them, that's also ok...

Man I'm calm. Why y'all always think I'm worked up, we just talkin. :lol

And I liked the third one. RotS. I don't hate all the prequels.

C CP1708 seems like the type of person that would read ASOIAF... and watch GoT... And his reaction video on YouTube would be him piercing his flat-screen with a $5K Oathkeeper replica while shouting "We will remember"...

I get none of that. What's ASOIAF, and Oathkeeper and remember what?

GoT references?

CP, chill man, Stop getting so worked up.

Look, we don't agree on a lot so let's just leave it at that.
