See An X-Men: Days Of Future Past Sting on Amazing Spider-Man 2

It's not exactly unusual for superheroes to team up. Spider-Man and the X-Men have done so on numerous occasions in the comics, so it should come as no surprise that they are doing so again - sort of - on the big screen. But surprise! There is an X-Men: Days Of Future Past clip in the credits of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which marks a possible new era of collaboration between competing studios with Fox and Sony working together.

Now this isn't a post-credits sting as we've seen before in the Marvel universe, setting up some sort of crossover between the two worlds. Rather, it's a clip from the X-film that gives us a taste of the action we're in for. We've been told by Sony that the clip will be attached to the film in the UK.

The scene featured sees Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, Lucas Till's Havok and Evan Jonigkeit's Toad taking on William Stryker (Josh Helman) and his military men. Without wishing to spoil anything, let's just say that Mystique once again demonstrates her formidable fighting skills in the brief segment.

Presumably there have been significant negotiations leading to this point, and the comic nerd in all of us hopes that someone said, over coffee during a break in the meeting, "Hey, how about we get these crazy kids together properly?" At the very least, this could lead to, next time, content being filmed expressly for this sort of crossover activity.

Neither is this the first attempt at co-operation between studios sharing the Marvel universe: there were early talks to have the Oscorp building appear in the New York skyline of Avengers, perhaps envisioning an exchange where Stark Tower would show up behind Spidey. However, this clip is still a step towards a unified Marvel theory universe, which would be unspeakably cool - even if it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is out in the UK today. It hits US cinemas on May 2. X-Men: Days Of Future Past arrives on May 22 here and May 23 across the Pond.

I am confused, so what are they doing? What scene will be in ASM2? The scene they described and they are just adding it to the ASM2s credits roll?

It seems like an actual scene from DoFP that they're attaching as another teaser to the end of Spidey.

They might make crappy film after crappy film, but they damn sure know how to market ****. :lol

That crossover tease is the best news I've heard in an X-Men film in some time. I hope it leads to something bigger.

Sounds like FOX is desperate as **** and reached out to a company in a similar position as far as owning rights to a Marvel character.

Just might possibly be there's a little less red tape in dealing with SONY than Marvel studios/Disney.

There's no huge stories I can think of with Spidey and the X-Men but Spidey and Wolverine teaming up alone is worth the price of admission.

Sounds like just an advertisement at the end of the film and nothing more.
Yeah it's almost akin to having the DoFP trailer air right before they show the actual ASM2 movie. Putting at the end might make ppl think Spidey might show up or there's a future crossover collab though.

It always gets worse when it opens over here. Is this really gonna be worse than SM3?

Nothing they ever do with ASM will ever be worse than SM3. It's not possible.

It wasn't just how DOA and :rolleyes-worthy that movie was. It was how far it fell from SM2. When SM2 came out, it wasn't ridiculous to call it the GOAT comic book thinkr. And the marketing for SM3 was amazing. It was almighty. It promised absolute greatness. Rise of Venom. Effects like you've never seen. Spidey with an edge.

I mean just look...with DoFP and ASM2...all the warning signs that they won't be great are right there. Hell, the Cap 2 marketing was shaky here and there. No one walked into SM3 expecting anything short of another great movie. It was like the ending of Lost. After the one-two punch of X3 and SM3, no one will ever get their hopes up like that again....(except with TDKR 8o :lol)

The Raimi trilogy does not hold up whatsoever.

The word "hokey" comes to mind.

Well the wrestling match has Flintstones sound effects when BONNNNNE SAWWW and Peter are fighting.

Idk what you mean man I just watched it and I don't hear none of that [emoji]128514[/emoji]

Greatest Spiderman scene of all time

An not even just because of Peter but the people on the train that helped him.

SM1 main problem was the fight scenes. They looked power rangers like. Other than that the movie was good. Sm2 I can't really say anything bad about.
