(Spoilers) ASOIAF Books Discussion (All Books Read Edition) (Spoilers)

He's always known about Jamie and cersi in my opinion. Which is why he had to get rid of Jon arryn
Remember the confrontation in the show between him and cersi didn't happen in the book. But that threatened his position if they were exposed and at the time the tyrells weren't in the pictufe

Yes
I think it was said he had to or he'd forget some story and where he was going to take it

I probably asked this question before, but do you guys think that the Mountain is going to brutally dismember Septa Unella just like he did Vargo Hoat.

I think I finally put a finger on why I'm not as into the show as I use to be...
No Stannis (I'm jk) don't flame me.
All jokes aside.
Its the predictability of the new content. (notice I said new content. Meaning not the book stuff we knew)
The beauty of grrm and his control is no one has really rightfully predicted what's next.
Even with his fire wight comment out of all the boards I'm apart of only one person has remotely even come close to that theory (which she has featured in some articles in the community) but even that isn't all the way right of what she said.
The fan service is what makes me not as much of a fan either of the show.
Still a great show. Good action. But also why other shows like Vikings has surpassed it for me.

Maybe it'd be different if I wasn't a book reader.

I've been meaning to get into Vikings I guess I could do it while I'm at work.

ragnar's beta sons automatically make it not better than GOT.

Travis Fimmel is a great actor though and hope he gets to flourish in a movie other than world of warcraft.

The Last Kingdom is a great show comparable to vikings.

Vikings is just a great story. They skipped on a bit of action last season. But everything else is great.
Even his sons get interesting towards the end of the season. And researching the history of Vikings. Ivar about to get busy

I don't think so because they probably would have showed it or eluded to it in episode 1. Also Gregor did that to mock the way Vargo tortured his enemies. Septa Unella wasn't about that.

So what are everyone's thoughts on "fire wights?"
Very interesting. I didn't even think of that as a possibility and like Tdogg said I haven't even come across the theory. Jon being a fire wight would solidify him not sitting on the iron throne for me.

Last week GRRM confirmed that's how it works, at least in the case of Beric Dondarrion and by proxy, Stoneheart.

Lmao..... Hahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahaha
D&D HAVE GOT TO BE THE DUMBEST WRITERS/PRODUCERS IN HISTORY.

What a waste. Bring me the books please. I need to wash the dialog of this season out of my mind

Over the past year I've listened to all five ASOIAF books, along with Dunk and Egg collection, and the novellas covering the dance of dragons. I'm currently listening to the world of ice and fire. I still love the show but it can't be overstated how much more depth the books add. Honestly I'm more interested in the events of the past instead of whats to come . I can't wait till we find out more about the Doom of Valyria, Aegon's conquest, The Tragedy at Summerhall, the Blackfyre Rebellions, Sothoryos, if the maesters had a hand in Dragons going away, etc.

Didn't realize this was the book thread. Thanks for bringing it back. I'm now on my 4th re read. Book 1. Again getting more and more details I had forgotten.
Book 1 days first chapter talks about the red priest that is now with euron....

As I love the maester's conspiracy theory, I would take World of Ice and Fire with a grain of salt. Great book tho.

Have you guys read the "The Sons of the Dragon" that was included in " Book of Swords"? I plan to try and get to that soon.
