we still have to assume with him being a warg...he has stark blood. .
whose blood is that is the question...Neds....
lyanna........their older brother......
benjen (is he neds direct brother)

I just finished my reread of the series and :eek

So much to discuss dugs...

Robb wrote the letter about his heir before the RW I thought the book insinuated. If that's the case then he's King in the North over all others. Bran is a tree at this point and Davos is looking for Rickon.

If it comes out that R+L=J than would Jon be heir before Sansa & Arya? Littlefinger knows Sansa is alive, and like one Lady in the Vale who plans to wed her son to her. I feel Arya will eventually come back and reunite with Nymeria. In any event, after what happens at the end of aDWD, if he dies and is reborn, technically he has fulfilled his vow to the Night's Watch right?

Ned x Lyanna I don't think works as far as the timeline with her getting snatched by Rhaegar.

Other **** I wanted to talk about...

I think I skipped over the book 5 epilogue my last read. Varys and Kevan :eek. **** will get so real. Jon Conn with (alleged) Aegon? If they align with Dorne (likely)? And Stannis would no longer be the rightful King with Aegon Targ in the picture, so would he form a peace?

Stannis is starting to turn the tables too. Freys and Manderleys beefing and he has the mountain clans. That letter from Ramsay Bolton to the Wall was an act of desperation. If Jon comes back, links with Stannis and the Wildlings.

Dany and Jon gotta be 2/3 heads of the Dragon. Tyrion the third? (it's hinted that Mad Aerys smanged Tywin's wife). Or maybe Aegon. Ah man, GRRM hurry your old *** up

DAMN, I never thought of it that way. I'm 100% sure he's not killed off (for good). But that scenario would make sense. Good find!

ok this talisa tv show thing is really starting to get to me now...

her being from volantis. isn't that who is on the boy targaryeons side right now

when u say R&L = j. do u nean rhagar and lyanna?

if so how does that give jon any claim to winterfell at all before the others.
he still wouldn't be neds blood so he'd still be after the other 5

And Stannis would no longer be the rightful King with Aegon Targ in the picture, so would he form a peace?

Technically its Robert's or the Bartheon Throne Stannis is claiming, after rebellion the goal was to take out Targaryans and claim throne for Robert. Aegon would of always been the rightful heir, and even Viserys when he was still alive and we thought Aegon was dead. Robert was never rightful heir, he just took throne. So I don't see him giving up his claim to the throne based on not being "rightful heir", unless he just decides to give up on goign for it, which I doubt he would or he would of long ago.

I mean there really isn't a true person who has CLaim to the throne when you really think about it.

its whoever can take over the city. so right now yes rightful heir is stannis.

the targaryeons just want to get back what theey once had. but once there is a take over thats yours.

If either King Robb Stark's will is found or Jon agrees to have King Stannis declare him legitimate, that makes Jon Snow into Jon Stark and if it is by Robb's decree, that makes Jon Stark King in the North and with Bran and Rickon out of the picture, Sansa would be the Lady of Winterfell. If Jon Snow becomes Jon Stark by way of Stannis, Jon would be Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, like Ned Stark was.

Now if Rickon should be found, that complicates things because Robb's will assumed that his two legitimate brothers were dead. Jon is obviously the older brother but I wonder if being legitimized is retroactice because if it is not, that makes Rickon King in the North or Lord of Winterfell.

Meanwhile, Bealish set things up so that they kill little Robin Arryn (the boy who was being breast fed) and Henry Arryn becomes Lord of the Vale and "Alayne Stone" marries him and before being wed, she shall reveal her true colors as the Lady of Winterfell. In so doing, Bealish could be able to rally the North against Bolton and get the Vale into the fight.

The Dorne and Vale are fairly small but they, in conjunction with Aegon's mercenaries and perhaps the Faith Militant are now a match for the Lannister-Tyrell-Frey-Bolton machine.

I absolutely love how GRRM has it set up so that as of the end of Book Five, the Iron Throne is in a dominant position and a weak position all at the same time. On the one hand they have the most troops, their man (Bealish) is ruling the Vale for them, The Dorne is an ally, the rebellious Storm and River Lords have surrendered and Bolton seems to have the North under control.

At the same time, the Iron Thorne is now hated by the church, the Bank of Braavos is funding a newly Partisan Night's watch, Manderly has hidden reserves in the North, Aegon and Jon Connington have appeared in the South, the Shield Island Raids are forcing Redwyne's fleet away from where it will be needed. The Tyrell's still have a huge army but the Lannisters do not because of Robb Stark's victories. Most Importantly, as GRRM said, "words are wind," the defeated River and Storm lords will unbend those knees the second the Lannister-Tryell alliance appears weak enough to overthrow.

Technically, he is blood to Ned since he is his nephew but I know what you mean. He's not his son.

I'm thinking that Jon might be the real re-incarnated hero that Melisandre said that Stannis was. Or he would at least be one of the keys to defeating the Others. He has Targaryen blood and it might help him if he ever meets Dany and the dragons. I remember her dragons liking one of Dany's soldiers that also has some Targaryen blood.

Not much talk of the Citadel here. I guess we'll know even more of its role in the next books. Sam is there to give them warning. The Sphinx is one of Oberyn's Sand Snakes being a type of sleeper cell in the maester school. There was I think a chapter or two and a prologue about Pate as well. At the time of reading it I didn't realize how he fit in but read that Jaqen H'ghar was the one who killed him and took his identity. He was the one who welcomed Sam when he first arrived.

I thought I had read everything last year but seems like there are more and more analysis and theories that I have to check out. Has there ever been a series of books like this that have over a dozen storylines that require extra research to know the whole story? There are so many subplots that will affect all the major ones. Not sure how he will wrap it all up in 2 more books.

I would like to read other stories with this type of depth.

you forgot dorne is pissed about Oberyn...and now that marcella is injured. they can't really show their face to lannister with marcella being like that.

^
She just lost like half an ear. Not too bad :lol.

I wonder who they'll cast as Arianne. She has to look like pure sex and spicy like those Dornish peppers.

Also that woman that Cersei befriended that shared her bed :evil.

if dany doesn't have her handmaids in the show anymore. highly doubtful cersei on the show will get that

Why does the show continue to deny me of the pervy scenes from the books? >:

They don't even have Dany wear the traditional dress with the one boob sticking out all peekaboo style :{. Also seems likely that Lena Headey will never show anything on this show. They'll probably just shoot from the neck up or just have back views of a body double when she has to walk through the streets naked.

I wanted to see that dress also... pisses me off...no nude clause......spit on her dragons

nah they told her some other knight did it so one of the Kingsguard is going after him. She is going back to Kings Landing with one of the Sand Snakes.

Everyone chooses to pursue all the potential destiny and "rightful" plots, but we all know that the contrary overarching theme of power resting in the hands of whoever can seize and hold it has been equally prevalent throughout.

I think there's gonna be a mix of people taking their "rightful" places and other "rightful" heirs that will just die at the hands of some of the master manipulators.

mannnn i don't know why you guys keep talking about who will win the iron throne and etc and etc.

At the end of the day R'hllor and The Great Other got beef!

That dude might get barbecued by dragons. I want to see what his plan is though.

I like the other Greyjoy uncle. The one who has that burnt black arm and has that big booby sea wench in his cabin with no tongue.

i realized that they aren't showing Nymeria's side story... i was hoping that arya was gonna have the same "dreams" bran had :\
it would have been nice to see what happens with her
the most interesting wolf story of the 4 :lol

NTNTNTNTNTNNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNTNNTNTNTNT

The wolves have been nonexistent this year. I hope Grey Wind gets to throw down before he's killed. I guess we've traded off seeing the dragons (which look great) for not seeing the wolves.

I don't think we'll see them in action
we may see em appear then hear sounds

like that BS white walkers vs. crows

I hope so too. I think (hope) they'll go into Arya's warging when they do ADWD.

I think you're describing Victarion :lol one of my favorite parts in ADWD is when he first starts raiding after Euron is crowded. He just destroys everyone on the ship :lol

Yea, Balon Swann. Myrcella told him that a knight from the Dayne household was teh one who attacked her and killed the other kingsguard.

Just wanted to pop in cause I finally read past the RW and didn't have anywhere to vent for the sake of spoiling. Even though I knew it was coming I still felt it. I'm reallllllllly anticipating how it turns out on the show. Damn why did they have to do Grey Wind like that though :'( .

It'll be pretty epic to have the Rains of Castamere playing in the background with the loud drums while the action switches between Catelyn's and Arya's POV.

Now off to finish the rest of the series.
