your argument makes no sense. first you say free is the new demand. then you say they should just charge $10 to play retro games, which is basically what the wii and even some xbox arcade games accomplish. yet people still pirate those games even though they have the option to buy them at a low price point.

i'm all for open systems, however, people need to understand just what might happen from a development standpoint for future products.

Yeah, because there will always be the minority that does all this just to get all games for free, I'm just saying sony should give fconsumers what they want instead of alienating their market. There's people that would avoid all the trouble of jailbreaking if all the features they wanted were present already in the official firmware.

devhdd> Game> FBAN00000> USDIR

In the USDIR folder you will see a file that says fbanext-ps3.xml

Copy that file back to your flash drive and open it using note pad on pc or dashcode on mac

you will then change the rom folder to your destination of your liking

Resave the file

Replace it back in the PS3

Roms located!

Same thing did not happen to PSP homebrew. The PSP homebrew community is running fine and dandy. Dark_Alex is not the only one making custom firmware for PSPs. Besides, Sony already tried to file a lawsuit with GeoHotz and it got denied. It's not going anywhere.

ok is there a jailbreak for older ps3 models, because i have a firmware 2.41 and not the 3.55 update that everyone says to use, i really can't update my ps3 as i lost my ethernet cable(yeah its that old) i'll be getting a slim in the coming weeks but wanted my old model to be used primarily for playing classic games from other systems as well as ps1 and ps2 games(full backwards compatability ftw) In case they do ban peeps online i wnt have to worry about that because my slim wnt be jailbroken

^ yes the jailbreak is for All ps3s fat or slim.....

just download 3.55 from ur computer and place it on a usb drive and update that way
