2.) How would you know that what ever entity showed up was truly the devil?

I’m not in here on the daily, but when I do drop in I’m always amazed by something I see in here. It always leads me to think, if there are advanced life forms that have contacted us in the past or present, why wouldn’t they stop us from hurting ourselves/suffering the way we are? Why would they allow us to pretty much destroy ourselves and why would they allow our “government” to do the nonsense that they’re doing? What is the point? Anyone have answers or thoughts?
