I got a canon t2i off craigslist for $550 recently and I don't regret it at all. If you want canon, T2i is the best canon for mid tier level DSLRs.

I mean, its a good camera, but I don't think there are any lens attachments to it, its the cheapest camera I found.

The Canon T2i or T3 are probably your best options in that price range.  If you can't find a T2i for that price, the T1i will be perfectly suitable as well.  It was only released last year and it a great camera.  The only difference is a slightly slower processor and a couple less megapixels.  If you get a fast SD card, I doubt you'll even notice the difference in speed.

I don't ever use BB as a reference because they always sell for retail.  You can easily find stuff on ebay for much less.
T2i for $660

I'm not too familiar with the non "i" series of Canon's, but from the specs, the T3 appears to be a fairly good alternative for around $500 on ebay.  I will look at getting a T3i in the next year and a half once the price drops to around $600.  The swivel display is a pretty attractive option for shooting.
