SOCCER/FUTBOL/FOOTBALL FOOTWEAR, KITS & GEAR - 2020/21

One of the GOAT colorways in boot history

I played outdoor/indoor soccer growing up (Minnesota we had indoor leagues in the winter), and was the best Backyard Soccer PC player in my neighborhood.

A look at the DF version

Aesthecially these things are gorgeous. Prob gonna need a pair.

Also...the wheelchair kid in backyard soccer! Talk about a time warp. Haven't' thought about that game since i was in elementary school

Yeah can't say here in MD we have many "licensed" grass fields. Aka fields that are grass with lines and goals. If you want to get a league together and you need to get field permits every high school and rec field are basically turf these days.

I know its no where near my man ronaldo nazario ronaldo nazario knee saga, but i shattered my collarbone 2.5 years ago falling on rock hard turf when i got slide tackled from behind. And tore my plantar plate and messed up my MTP joint with really bad turf toe from my boot getting stuck in the turf and me basically falling backwards and bending my foot in half. Been about 14 months since that happened and i still am dealing with daily pain. (rejected surgery which may have been a mistake )

I just play through the aches and pains now. I'm trying to play to 40 and then most likely will hang them up.

But then they give Europe all the AG models but "nike products can't be shipped abroad" BS. Luckily there are some great companies that dgaf.
Yea. The EU and their laws does a better job at protecting their consumers. Here, not so much :{

I swear Nike supplying the U.S. market with AG was never an issue until relatively recently. It used to be easier to get AG in the U.S. than in Europe.

I had just assumed it was their major supply chain issues caused by the pandemic but then I realized I don’t even know when exactly this all started.

+5 years ago it wasn’t a problem.

Haven’t played since I was teenager. I’m 30 now and getting ready for the over 40 league

Yeah man after 3 ACL's and 7 knee procedures I'm dying for that retirement league haha. I currently play co-ed on Tuesdays as keeper then open division (18 & over) on Sundays as a striker . In April I'm retiring from co-ed and moving to a 35 & over men's division.

As a fellow 35 year old still trying to hang on...our over 30 league folded during COVID. It was the golden goose. Just a bunch of older guys looking to have some fun and compete. Still looking for a good older league. We have an over 40 league by us that is POPPING like 10 team league. The over 30 was like 4 teams (hence folding)

But when i turn 40....its on

Wore these for a second time tonight for training. They are a really, really good boot.

I never got to experience the Flyknit (Vapor) Ultras in 2017. I wasn’t a fan of the Vapor 11 and believed them “too narrow” for my footshape. Most of you know, though, that I am a diehard fan of the Vapor 13 and still hold it to be the best release Nike has ever made. Getting to play in essentially a combination of the best parts of the Vapor 13 in a Hypervenom setup is extremely satisfying.

I had a pair of WC2014 Hypervenom 1s that lasted me about a year in 2015. They were great boots, but fell victim to toebox separation. I never tried the Hypervenom 2 or 3. The fit of these seems to be different than what I remember of the 1s. They are wider than the Vapor 13 through the midfoot, and much more forgiving of wider foot shapes. The insole is the same insole used on the Phantom Venom. The outsole is the hyperstability plate from the Hypervenom 3. So overall, they’re just built on a wider last than the Vapor line (even the current Vapor 15). I’d say they’re closest in shape to the Phantom Venom (which was a huge hit with players and you had a lot of people hanging onto those boots for almost an entire season even after the GT 1 came out).

Lockdown is good, though not quite to the absolutely “locked in” level of the Vapor 13, which I think really benefitted from the anatomical footbed. Texture is fantastic, pliability is fantastic, touch on the ball is fantastic. The outer skin is almost waxy to the touch, which I guess are the “individually dipped Flyknit yarns” used to weave the thing together. The shape of the boot’s collar is very nice and creates a seamless, completely flat seal against your foot. The Flyknit is thick and plush. Lateral and turning traction are very enjoyable. They are a thoroughly comfortable boot, with little to no break-in time and no hotspots.

Strictly for my foot shape, I would have wished the boot was slightly lower volume overall. I have grown to really love the totally streamlined, lie-flat-on-your-foot-all-the-time, snug but never tight fit of the Vapor 13 and Speedflow .1. But for what it is, I literally cannot complain about anything. I took a few hits tonight, including getting stepped on, and the boots show no sign of wear as a result, so durability seems to be very good. These are all Made In Bosnia, so for those well-versed you can immediately recognize the superior build quality compared to MIC boots. The interior stitching is clean attaching the upper to the soleplate, there’s no stray fibers, lines and cuts are clean; they look like a premium product.

The black/citrus is great in person, though I’m personally a bigger fan of the black/pink release. There’s a subtle iridescent effect going on inside the big toebox swoosh that is cool to look at. The soleplate has a layered “blue chrome” effect at the edges of the plate that looks incredible between the orange and black. So far, even after one game and one extended training session, the wearable finish hasn’t noticably worn off, so you still have that premium look underfoot (though both the game and practice were on damp-ish, soft grass).

Particularly if you’re of medium-to-wide feet, these are a fantastic pickup to experience an ultra premium, performance-minded boot experience.

I’m jealous of those, wish I was able get a pair. Hopefully the new phantoms are as good

Ball came last week. Still haven’t used it since my foot is messed up still. But yeah the box was hilariously big. Ball seems like it’s constructed nicely and weight feels good too. Excited to give it a go

Ordered my netherlands away shirt. Prices are crazy, £127 with full printing. The 25% birthday discount softens the blow somewhat
