Not something you can put a number on. There are so many factors at play that determines your risk/likelihood of developing cirrhosis.How much alcohol a day and how many years of drinking will cause cirrhosis of the liver
However, new research is showing that the development of cirrhosis has a lot to do with a person's nutritional status. Cirrhosis is a lot more common in drinkers that skip meals in order to drink (the "liquid lunch" crowd), resulting in protein deficiencies. Makes sense when you consider that the protein they're missing would be used to restore damaged tissues.
