What the hell are you talking about? If they were thinking with their wallet they would have passed it so we could have taxed the weed. People (particular older folks) don't want to see weed legal because they still have their negative stereotypes.
no, a MAJOR reason it failed is because alot of da growers feared their product was gonna be worth a whole lot less once it became perfectly legal and thus lower profits so alot of

da same people in da industry urged alot of da those people to vote da measure down for those aforementioned reasons.

This is VERY true.
I don't smoke, but like 9/10 of the people I know do, and when it was election time a good half of them voted it down on this thinking.

Yea I remember reading an article that speculated if it were legalized nationwide that prices would drop to $38 an OUNCE.

The criminalization of/stigma attached to weed is still one of the most puzzling things about our society IMO.

juss seen the news. said growers from Fresno and somewhere else in CA, were growing for "medical" purposes, and then sending it to Connecticut and had about 3 mil wired to their bank accounts.

yea, my buddies plug gets it from a grower in humboldt who ships his overflow to mn.

i don't really think this will be a big deal for you cali guys though.  it's still decriminalized and it's never going to be hard to find. the gov't is dumb as hell for this though.

i think the thing that sucks, if they do close down all of them, is having choices and other options (edibles, oils, etc.) its not hard finding connects, i feel that everyone knows someone out here in Cali. but the quality is what makes the difference. i know a lot of people have cards for serious ailments, but i know a lot of people who have cards cuz they smoke, but if they get pulled over and have stuff on em, the card kind of backs them up (more of being on the safe side). its real easy to get a card out here in Cali.

 agree

got knocked for 2 kush bags this evening spent 3 n half hours in jail 8 to 1145 smh

legalize itttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Um. This happens like every few months dude... really nothing new. They'll close down the luck 16, but the other 500 will remain open. LA county closed a bunch too.

Come on guys... we're dealing with debt, unemployment, class issues, murders, suicides, etc... can't you see how important it is to make sure people don't have legal access to a plant?

This is awful. I know people employed in this industry. I've visited clinics (not a smoker anymore) and have been amazed every time by the diversity of people that use marijuana. Most of the people I saw visiting the club my homegirl works at were older folk (some in wheelchairs.) I understand that there are clubs and growers who try to take advantage of the situation but I don't feel it's right for the federal government to come in and tear all this good work and progress down with one swoop.

We will see some places shut down for sure. Either by their own will or by enforcement. You have to understand that the state and fed's have attempted to close down dispensaries here for the same reasons in the past, zoning! Their weak attempt at prosecution has left the door wide open.

The state held inspections here in San Diego and served numerous cease & desist letters based upon the whole issue of zoning. Time and effort was put into this program for them to ultimately do nothing. They were unable to shut down collectives on the fact of distribution, which they thought was a win, win. Now they turned to the current situation, which is zoning.

In California there has been some major precedence established along with tons of case study. Particularly in San Diego where I am at, we have the only current federal case at an applet level. Look him up, his name is Jovan Jackson. What is taking place here in San Diego and state wide for that matter will shape the future. Currently there are 16 states that have medical marijuana laws and I encourage everyone to stay privy to what is unfolding in front of us.

One last thing, you have to understand timing is everything. The 2012 elections are coming up and we have Prop 19 on the ballet once again. From what I have heard there is a proposed tax bill in line with Prop 19 that would solidify their claim. Now how it does, I cannot say, but I do know this. This issue is nation wide not just California, and with that the politicians are putting their cards on the table to see who is on the fence. I stress the fact only because we have to ultimately look at this from an economic standpoint. Politicians weather democratic or republican cannot deny the simple fact of revenue from taxation.

This was true for me also, they got scared of how the govn't would affect/tax their $$$

However, it is more about the fact that only a handful of counties have the "liberal" views that is stereotypical California. The other counties outside of the populated areas are just as conservative as the rest of middle america

Wait, so proposition 19 is going to be back up for 2012? In that case, there's nothing to worry about. It'll pass, and if for some reason it doesn't, you guys will still have a constant flow of quality herb, plus the most relaxed laws in the nation. And I'll still be enjoying it right here in TX.

If people don't know yet, the majority of people with medical marijuana cards don't have any medical problems.(all you do is find a doctor and say you have emotional distress)
And sometimes the dispensaries sell more then they are allowed to one person.

Please someone give details on how Obama is to blame again lol.

Personally, I don't smoke but I know people that use these facilities for their conditions. With that said, it's not going to stop anybody from using it or finding ways to get their hands on it.

It's kind of funny that this happened because I had an interview as a receptionist/associate at this facility. I didn't get the job but if I did, I would have been out of the job within the next few weeks

This. I have always been able to get good bud, so I'm not concerned for myself. Humboldt is very close. I'm more concerned for the older folks that won't be able to get their meds.
