...kinda sucks if you're Lorne Michaels.

Saturday Night Live is set to suffer a huge blow after it was rumoured Jason Sudeikis, Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg and set to quit.

Bridesmaids star Wigg - who has been on the comedy show since 2005 - has apparently been considering leaving for some time after her recent movie success.

Us Weekly claims two sources have confirmed the trio will take a final bow when the current season ends.

A source told the publication: 'Kristen was talking about leaving a while ago. With her movie success, it’s no surprise.'

Spokesmen for Wiig, 38, and Sudeikis, 36, refuted the report, saying: 'No decisions are made until the season is over.'

And a representative for SNL told TVGuide.com: 'There’s no truth to that Us Weekly item.'

But the magazine claims the three stars want to leave to focus on their movie careers instead.

A source told Us Weekly: 'It will be a huge blow to the show.

'Without Andy’s video shorts and Kristen saving every skit, they’ll need help!'

Other SNL alums whose careers were launched on SNL include 30 Rock star Tina Fey, Parks And Recreation actress Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon, who now has his own chat show.

No surprise. this is what SNL does: takes talent, makes them into household names, and then they leave

they better find new talent quick. i dont see anyone else in the cast being as successful as these three.

on to the next ones!!!!!

room on the show means more new talent will get work.........7 years is long enough anyway.

There's always cast members getting popular then leaving, but this will be especially challenging for the show.

Right now they throw Wiig in so many reoccurring sketches and rely on her skills.. I think they overdo it, but without her they'll have a lot to make up for. Plus Samberg's Digital Shorts will probably be gone as well.

Losing Wiig will probably hurt the most because she's their strongest female cast member.

Have you tried to write a 90-minute sketch comedy show with a few days' prep 20+ times a year? Didn't think so. People think that by just getting new writers SNL is going to turn into some magical comedy factory where everything is funnier and more consistent. It's a tall order to do what SNL does, and it's never been consistent from show to show throughout its history.

It's expected for Wiig to want to move on after the success of Bridesmaids, she probably wants to write her own
shows now. Sudeikis is hit or miss to me and I never really cared for Andy Samberg.

A. They have a lot of writers, it isn't a singular person writing the entire show. B. They have recurring characters/bits, which means they just barely change the dialogue for a new sketch and C. The show does need better writers, ignoring consistency, the sketches are way too long and often cringe-worthy bad. There was a noticeable drop off once Tina Fey left
