Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Who said anything about "disarming" citizens?

....one can categorize this as "anything about "disarming" citizens"...

Disarmament (preferably through buy back programs) + tighter restrictions on the kind of firearms that can be sold to the public (because the NRA and its gun making backers are just as responsible for the deterioration of the gun issue)

We really still having the same ‘it won’t be 1000% foolproof’ argument when people continue to explain that an iron clad law that always works is ridiculous.

It’s a straw man argument.

anybody else find it ridiculous that they are trying so hard to find out what made him do it even going as so far as to place the blame on his bank robbing father he never knew?

like come on man let that be any other race and they would say hes either with al qaeda or just a bat **** crazy thug

trying to dig so deep as to what the cause was like white america never did this type of **** before

this guy was just a bat **** crazy selfish loser.

Just read that the shooter killed himself before the cops get to the room? :smh:

Loser.

The gun debate spin is idiotic. Murder is already illegal. Clearly people like this don't care about the laws.

RI congressman drafts gun control bill after Vegas shooting
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A Rhode Island congressman says he’s drafting a bill to prohibit devices that can enable a rifle to fire continuously, like an automatic weapon.

Authorities say the Las Vegas gunman had 23 guns with him at the hotel and 12 “bump stock” devices that can enable a rifle to fire continuously.

Democratic U.S. Rep. David Cicilline is asking his colleagues to co-sponsor legislation he’s working on that would prohibit the manufacture, possession, sale or transfer of devices to convert a semi-automatic weapon into the near equivalent of a fully automatic machine gun.

The Sunday night rampage by Stephen Craig Paddock killed at least 59 people and injured more than 500.

And I stand by my words. If mofos can't self regulate, somebody should.

Yesterday, someone brought up the upcoming vote on allowing the sale of armor piercing bullets.

Has anyone ever thought that if the police didn't have a high probability of facing heavily armed civilians, maybe, just maybe, they would be more accepting of patrolling with just a club, mace, a taser, and a whistle?

Want to solve the gun violence problem? De-escalate. That's the only thing the US hasn't tried yet.

They gotta blame it on something so they can keep up the “white ppl are good n minorities/Muslims are bad” narrative

Any other type of person this you woulda been hearing terrorist, thug, or criminal before they even looked into backgrounds and facts

N if ppl are serious about gun control or preventing this from happening again , steps need to be taken before another event ...ppl only care after something happens then is back to business as usual , real change needs to happen when everything is “cool”

Places where police shootings occur most often already have higher levels of gun control.

In America today police don't want to deescalate in urban environments. Guns banned or not we would still be getting shot and beat.

Civilians having armor piercing rounds is insane though

LVPD Chief is now talking bout why no one ever said anything about his suspicious behaviors, pointing the finger at anyone who knew or interacted with him.

Didnt they already say he should no signs of going coo coo this way

Let's be honest, if new research comes back with recommendation that gun regulation will lower death of all kind, dudes will ignore it.

I can already spell the goal post move to "Welp, maybe we need to look into profiling mass shooter better".

I mean c'mon.....

High levels of gun control but also high levels of illegal guns flooding in from other states into urban neighborhoods

We can't even attack that problem because the NRA buys off politicians to keep the ATF underfunded

How much of this is suicide related? I know Alaska's at the top because their #1 suicide method is gun, and it makes them highest on the gun death list by percentage.
