He might be the only unsigned, I could be wrong though. For sure he hasn't signed anything.
Why the Seahawks had to have Luke Willson
listen Listen: John Schneider on the Seahawks' rookie minicamp

Seahawks general manager John Schneider tells "Brock and Danny" which players to watch during rookie minicamp.

By Brady Henderson
Tight end Luke Willson was the first player coach Pete Carroll mentioned when asked who stood out on the first day of the Seahawks' rookie minicamp.

"I thought Luke Willson did some cool stuff today," Carroll told "Afternoons with the Go 2 Guy" on Friday. "He looked very fast. He ran a great time [in the 40-yard dash]; it was 4.50, 4.51 or something like that. It looked like it today on the practice field. He got loose up the sidelines and got to turn it on a couple times and caught the ball really well. So that's an exciting first day for that guy."

Willson had all of nine catches for 126 yards last season as Rice's backup tight end. Yet, according to general manager John Schneider, Willson was a player the Seahawks felt they had to have when they drafted him in the fifth round last month.

"We really, really would have been disappointed if we wouldn't have been able to acquire him," Schneider told "Brock and Danny" Friday, comparing Willson to Bruce Irvin and Russell Wilson from last year's draft in that regard.

Why were the Seahawks so high on Willson? Brock Huard offers his take in the video below.

That's some pretty high praise

Love what I keep reading about Wilson, especially the part where Schneider said he was a 'must-get' player - his measurable's are essentially identical to Jimmy Grahams.

Wilson is pretty much the sole reason why I can't see Seattle succumbing to the hype of being an easy favorite heading into the season. He's just not a guy who slips up or lets those around him slip.

Putting a lot on a rookie TE, eh?

Re: Russell Wilson, I wholeheartedly agree. There isn't another QB from that draft class I'd rather have. Pete Carroll mentioned in an article that he played a highlight reel of Wilsons for the rookies on the 1st day of camp, and that opened up with Russell struggling with adjusting to the game then gradually progressing as the season went on. I thought that was very cool.
including an interesting tactic head coach Pete Carroll used prior to the start of camp, “Wilson’s legacy: Carroll opened a morning staff meeting by showing video of [Russell] Wilson struggling with some of the basics, including center exchanges, during the rookie camp last year. Wilson finished the season with a playoff victory and an appearance in the Pro Bowl. Carroll wanted to put into perspective the first day of rookie minicamp so his coaches wouldn’t get down on a young player for struggling early.”

Richard Sherman hired the ref who botched the Golden Tate touchdown to umpire his celebrity softball game. That's pretty awesome.

Josh Portis got booked for a DUI

This apparently happened on Cinco De Mayo

I would take this team with all the problems with any of those mr goodie teams. (2005 is debatable)
No question.  Quickly becoming one of my favorite teams ever in all of sports (Payton & Kemp being #1).

I'm all too happy to forget Matt "George W. Bush is an honorary Seahawk" Hasselbeck, personally.

A few notes from today's OTA session:
Cliff Avril sidelined w/ plantar fascia, like Bryant and Miller had last season. Should be back in 3 weeks.

Clemons is rehabbing in Georgia. Marshawn in the Bay Area.

Irvin practiced at SAM with the second stringers. He "appeared comfortable dropping in coverage defensively during passing drills". Malcolm Smith was taking 1st team reps.

McCoy suffered an ankle injury coming out of a cut and got carted off.

Base defense as of right now: Bryant at base end, Mebane at one-tech, McDaniel at 3-tech, Bennett at LEO, Smith at SAM, Wags at MIKE, Wright at WILL.

For third down, Mebane and Bryant played DT, Irvin/Bennett played DE, and Winfield came in for Smith at nickel.

Same O-line group as last seasons. Okung-McQuistan-Unger-Sweezy-Giacomini. Sweezy is still on his back from the beating he took in the Atlanta game.

Josh Portis "showed good anticipation in completing several throws down the field during 20minute and 7-on-7 today". Best back up QB of the bunch.

Spencer Ware got reps at FB and extended reps at RB - with Christine limited with tightness in hammy.

Baldwin looked to be back to his rookie form. Looked quick and explosive. Had 1 play where he burned Thomas deep and drew a holding call on ET.

Thurmond practiced and looked healthy. Worked at nickel with the second unit.

Mike Morgan looked to have bulked up and was taking reps at LEO with the second team.

Ty Powell got reps in at LEO also.

Lawd please please stay healthy Thurmond. I know the talent is there

Good to hear Baldwin is back at peak form.

I think Irvin playing SAM in blitz/pressure packages will be a good look.

I remember the game in NY 2 seasons ago - he dominated, I thought he was on the verge of being a fixture in the secondary but it's been nothing but injuries since.

Josh Portis waived.
