This is an appreciation thread. Feel free to post up vids, pics, or things you remember of him. The tragic circumstances of Sean Taylor's death was atotal shock. There was so much potential he had, and the ceiling for what he could have done was very high. I remember back in 04' when the Skins draftedhim at #5. I had followed his career since he was a sophomore at the U, and for one of my favorite college players to get on my hometown team, I was elated. I stand fully by the statement that he was one of the top 3 most athletic players I have ever seen in my lifetime. This guy was like none other that the Skinshad in their secondary. His presence alone made opposing players think twice about going over the middle, trying to go deep, etc. This was the auora of SeanTaylor. I have no doubt in my mind that he would have gone down as one of the best safeties to ever play in the NFL. It's hard to write this, because Ihave so many things going through my mind as to how to properly make this thread. I am just happy that I got to watch one of the rising stars in the NFL forthe short time that he was in the league. The play that stands out in my mind that typifies what Sean Taylor was all about, was when JJ Arrington opted to nottake a hit from ST on a 4th and 2, when he should have tried to lower his shoulder and extend his team's drive. This man came into his own this season, and his presence in the secondary made the ******** a totally different defense. I'll be back with more, but please post up vids, pics, etc of what youremember best of Sean Taylor. RIP.
man he was a beast on the field. probably could have been the best safety ever, never really got to show his full potential. i was at the fsu game intallahassee, in the rain. it was the greatest defensive performance by an individual that i have ever seen. rip sean
he will be sorely missed but never forgotten...in just 4 short years he became a one of my two favorite players of all time along wit deion sanders, i canteven imagine watching a skins game knowing big Sean wont be back there intimidating opposing offenses, but this is bigger then football...this man lost hislife over nothing.
thats bigger than any hit hes ever put on sumbody.my thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends i can only imagine what there going through at this time...
ima post sum of my favorite ST pics.
one of my favorite sean taylor moments from the monday night game a few years ago that we won in dallas
thanks for posting those images and videos fellas.. not to take away from the situation but these last few days have been two of the worst days of my life..including other circumstances.. say what you wan't about his play on the field..there will NEVER be another one like him.. RIP Sean Taylor..I hope yourfamily (including the ********) and most importantly your daughter get through this heartbreaking situation.
dude would strike ... I had so much respect for dude that I would trade big people from the cowboys in my madden season to get him and roy on the same team ...I tried not to screw the skins over though giving up 2 1st's, 2nd and 3rd plus whoever the other safety was on my squad ... I did this since he was in theleague ... he was just nasty to me and yes TO did not want no part of ST, but dont quote me
I think It was Randy Moss last game as a Viking the game where he left with like 2 seconds left. In that game Moss was 1 on 1 with Taylor and they both went upfor the ball and Taylor batted it away
. I couldn't believeTaylor went toe to toe with Moss.
Also when he layed out the Punter in last years Pro Bowl.
Every Int he got this season I would always say" TAYLOR" or "ST". I can't believe I won't be saying that ever again.
His hits were my favorite. You could feel the impact of his hits in the cheap seats (no exaggeration). I also loved how numerous receivers dropped passessimply because he was headed their way. I still can't believe this... His career was cut too short to be considered legendary, but his legacy will alwayslive on, at least in my mind. RIP Hitstick.
Wow. This is unbelievable. I was never a big fan of the guy (c'mon, i'm a Giants fan), but I respected his talents so much. A great life was cut tooshort. RIP Sean Taylor.
and as much as we all love Randy Moss.. if you had to pick someone to go toe to toe with him in the air today in the NFL, Taylor would come out of every damnmouth.
sean taylor was an INCREDIBLE football player. just watching those Youtube videos of him shows you how damn hard he played everyday. im really hurting afterthis.
I still cannot believe it. He has been my favorite defensive player since he was at The U. He was the definition of a beast. In my opinion the best safety evercoming out of college and he was definitely going to be an all time great in the NFL. It seemed he was involved in some stuff from time to time but you couldtell he was past that, especially with the birth of his child. RIP to him and I pray that his family (******** and U of Miami included) and friends can getthrough this rough time.
Watching Sean Taylor play at the OB or on TV at home was something to always look forward to. You knew the UM defense was bringing it every game but receiverswere scared when they had to run and catch in ST's area. He was a homegrown product outta Gulliver too and straight to the U. I just really hope thatpeople dont start getting the wrong impression that the University of Miami is back to "Thug U" because of not only Sean Taylor's death, butBryan Pata's as well. This could have happened to ANYBODY, but unfortunately it happened to 2 wonderful and gifted athletes from UM. R.I.P to Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
