Even Godfather 3 is better than Scarface.

Godfather is wild overrated. Ish put me to sleep sleep
Yikes. Another one.
It was just like Denzel acting in Training Day - nobody could see him playing a “bad guy”. He won an oscar. Which by the way was bs because he should have won for X.
I see the comparison but for me its more than that.

I already saw MBJ play a bad guy. Did it real well. I have no problem believing he can do that.

It's the character of Tony. Dude has anger issues, quick to use violence, clever but takes risks that are basically reckless. Most times gives no ****s.

Not sure MBJ can completely embody that.

Happy if he proves me wrong though.

Unpopular opinion, but that movie sucked. Al Pacino made the film.

I wouldn't say it sucked, but it's definitely not on the level of the Godfathers, Goodfellas and Casino.

The other De Palma-Pacino collaboration, Carlito's Way, was much better than Scarface. I don't see why people find Tony Montana appealing. Carlito Brigante on the other hand, real tears were shed at the end of the movie.

Godfather 3 was weird. Why was michael corleone ok with his daughter getting some incest action from her cousin?

The best parts about Scarface (1983) was Al Pacino hamming it up for 2:45 and the Giorgio Moroder soundtrack. Everything else is forgettable.

Also, I wish people stop calling every remake a "reboot". That **** is irritating.

There's nothing wrong with calling it a remake, that's what it is.

- Scarface is garbage
- Pacino is trash in it
- Could have got an actual Latino to star in the movie, not a ****in white guy

Brian De Palma kinda made up for having an Italian-American play a Cuban immigrant in Scarface by having Andy Garcia (Cuban immigrant) play an Italian-American in The Untouchables, which coincidentally is about Al Capone, the real Scarface.

Scarface is a classic for sure, but I don't love it like a lot of people do.
I don't think it needs a reboot either, but I'm not opposed to seeing how it may turn out.

I doubt I like this as much as the Pacino one but I do hope it kind of inspires a trend of new crime and gangster films. Even though I'm sure social media getting dudes hemmed up in the end will be a common theme

Not necessary

I was thinking the other week if they would ever do a Star Wars - Return Of The Jedi remake

That makes more sense now with technology than this.

So many memorable quotes/lines in this great movie. Do I see Michael B Jordan as a Cuban in $550 suits buggin out and getting money like Al Pacino?? Nah he’s a good actor but not in his repertoire
The movie is set in LA, maybe it will be a modern setting if anything.

Also just kinda keep in mind, this was the 80s. Hollywood was not about accurate casting based on ethnicity. They weren't gonna find a Cuban actor or even any Hispanic actor.

Al Pacino was on the rise back then. Fit De Plama's vision.
