If you find someone who volunteers you can ask them to say they "lost" their badge and they'll replace it once. I got my friend in for free this way

still kinda mad that I didn't get tickets. waited an hour and a half in queue the day tickets were going on sale and nothing

The convention center? It's summer so the amount of sweaty people is a lot. I went to the NY one and didn't notice any smell but it's in October.
