When a team, especially under the scope of the general public, after a domestic violence scandal still playing out, supports a player for football reasons after he was arrested for domestic violence they are saying "we support this man".

Nobody picks and chooses when we agree our justice system, at least not me.


I've long said our justice system is broken.


I've always preached rehabilitation, not our current system that only fosters recidivism.


I don't know if Floyd is a changed man, I don't know to what extent he's been rehabilitated, I suspect that our current system only helps feed a vicious cycle of conviction, incarceration and recidivism.


Floyd seems like he's more family oriented lately, seems like he's a bit more down to earth, I mean compared to how he used to be. I don't know if he's really a changed man.


But for me to say, listen, he's done his time, it doesn't mean I agree or support our current system.


Our system is what it is no matter how much I dislike it, as it stands, if we're going to be held accountable by this system then it's only fair that when a man does the time he's given, we allow that man to go forward with his life.

As a martial artist (and yes, boxing is a martial art) he should have more discipline than that. He should have more reverence for his ability as a fighter, he should have more restraint, and more respect for the women who carried his children. Floyd fans don't excuse his past, we're simply taking him at face value. Athletes make piss poor role models, they always have. I'm not going to expect, after all this time, for any athlete to be a pillar of moral fiber.




If tomorrow say, I don't know, Odell Beckham Jr, or Victor Cruz, or any New York Giant went out and got arrested for domestic violence I wouldn't be surprised.


But I also wouldn't stop being a fan of them, I wouldn't stop being a fan of the Giants if the Giants chose to let the legal process play out and not terminate or suspend a player because they didn't want to handicap themselves as a football team.
