RIP Cadillac CTS-V, ATS-V

I thought their pricing was pretty good?

CTSV starts at $85k with 640hp
M5 starts at $95k with 570hp
E63 starts at $105k with 605hp
GSF is cheaper by starting at $84k but has the least hp at 467

While the Cadillac isn't going to wow you with innovation, it's still pretty luxurious and quality felt close enough.

actually they beat da Germans is multiple statistical categories.

problem is Cadillac was too late to change their brand cache'. da 80's were terrrrrrible for GM other than Buick.

So true. Cadillac has excellent engineering, and has put up world class performance numbers for the last 10-15 years. Even Ferrari uses the same magnetic suspension.

It's the marketing department that keeps missing the opportunity to position the brand on the same level as the Germans.

id still take the m5 over all those cars tho the m5 is the god father of that category

Meh last gen CTS-V was gorgeous and was $65k

I don't see the point in paying $100k for a CTSV if I want I'll just cop a Z06

while true, it's been on a decline every gen and by making it bigger and fatter, it allowed others to catch up

this i agree.

their strategy should've been to undercut da Germans at da price point at every clip while still competitive at da performance categories.

What is objective and measurable about an m5 that makes it better?

has the best transmission out of all those cars
the most driver oriented while being just as luxurious
faster than all those cars around a corner and only loses in a straight line to the amg
m5 is the only one that offered a manual
the super sedan category was basically invented with the e39 m5

Those CTS-V doesn't really start at 85K ; the based model is starting at $90K.

That 85K MRSP is just a marketing lead to get you in the door.

Like I said as long as the V-series still around it'll do fine.

Personally, I rather a LS over anything. You can do a lot more modifications to it.
