@DreamTeamUSA why do you say the black tongue fire red Vs technically aren't a OG colorway?

Yeap, I was wrong. They were an OG after all.  I just never recall seeing them as a kid, just the other Fire Reds. Pardon me as I'm not a Jordan fanatic

I Was literally coming to ask the exact same thing LOL.

And as for the other guy's suggestion that people Don't consider colorways OG if they were never worn in games...who does that? I've never heard ANYBODY say that. EVER. So by that logic True Blue 3's, Military 4's, Grape 5's, Sport Blue & New Maroon 6's, ALL of the 1994 9's, and on & on. None of those are OG's because Mike didn't wear them in games? Get outta here with that.

Peace,
J

Yes, Reebok probably did net a good profit regardless of them going on sale. These were so overpriced to begin with that I'm pretty sure of that..

And yes, Fire Red 3's and Black Tongue 5's didn't sell as well some of the other retros, but that's because both of them had already dropped like merely 5-6 years ago. And technically, the Black Tongues aren't even an OG colorway. The Shaq Attaqs  had never been retro'd before and they hadn't been on sale to the public in 20 years. 20 freaking years. Can you imagine a JB OG colorway that hadn't been retro'd in 20 years sitting on the shelf. I think not.

DreamTeam, I get where you're coming from bro - you want Reebok to succeed but they were late to the retro 'sneaker game' by a good 2 years (although some may argue that they've been late by a decade). Anyways, had they signed Shaq and Kemp in '11, we'd already have a few of their signature models retroed already.

I think this sneaker craze has sort of plateaued and Nike/JB are maintaining their status quo by limiting the availability of their products and charging higher MSRPs. Reebok simply does not have the brand clout to do this.

Going back to your comment about JB retroing OG colourways that sit - this has happened in '94 and in '99 onwards till the CDPs. I won't comment on the US markets, but it was possible to get retro product in Toronto for under retail. Sometimes you'd get entire FSRs at the factory outlets.

Yea, pardon my ignorance. My knowledge of OG Jordan colorways is somewhat limited. Only owned one pair of Jordans growing up and that was the White/Infrared VI purchased from a Nike Outlet in Delaware.
Nice pic, repped. Had I seen this before, my dumbass wouldn't have thought they were a non-OG color

This post right here was some of the realest **** I've read on NT. Can't disagree with anything you said here.

Imo reebok's retro high was the the white shaq attaqs.

Although there is a ton of stuff coming out for them late this year and next that i am anticipating unless they make everything limited. the popularity will not be there.

And if you miss something that reebok puts out you do not have to pay hefty prices if you are smart because reebok does re retro their stuff quite frequently.

Unlike nike they steady pump out their most popular stuff often.

Which is mindboggling to me how long it took them to retro the kamikaze line. Shaq line i can understand cuz nobody gonna buy shaq attaqs without shaqs logo n name on the shoes. But they kept dropping garbage *** hybrids of the kamikaze line...

I couldnt be the only one asking why they dropped those terrible kamikaze 3 and pump hybrids and not the ogs?

Right now they are doing horrible things with the preseason line...

Nike can afford to do crap colorways and ideas because they own the retro market but a company like reebok? No

I guess it goes to show you how well attaching the limited tag to something works.  Those whites still command top dollar while the blacks are going for 115 now.

My personal opinion on why those recent J's sat has more to do with the new sneaker culture that just eats up all the retro+ cws and doesn't know or care at all about OG cws.

There are definitely people on these forums that consider OG cws to be something that player wore.  Just stating something I observed is all.

and just when you think reebok could do no worse comes yet another surprise up their sleeve...

who needs reindeer court victory pumps when you can have halloween pumpkin pumps

400

won't be buying any of their pumps until they make them in a ******g size 14

To add to the other page on what dreamteamusa said on why they flopped, maybe it was because you gave us all discounts on release day! Therefore the $160 was justifiable anymore lol
Anyways thanks for that coupon! Your the man lol

You can add the 'Sonics' Kamikaze II to the Shaq Attaq release, but everything else you said is spot on.

Its so good, I am actually thinking to grab another pair just to rock.

Retail or a little more for the black pair isn't really a bad thing, considering what dudes drop on Jordan's or some Nike retros... At least we get pretty good quality on these.

Totally agree, every time I smell that full grain leather on the Shaq's, its like a time machine, it takes me back in the 90's when things were done right.

i cant say more~ honestly, i have more love on reebok over nike/jordan. I m totally upset of how jordan retro the bugs this year......if u have the og back in 92/3 u know what i mean. The oval shaped leather on the ankles are just off......the leather used to be buldging out like a padding. now just FLAT:{ The feeling wearing in it just feels the leather not moulded to your feet just like the OG does. The midsoles too feel kinda weired.....or i if i have to put it, i would say they not solid enough. Reebok has done a really nice job on all the retros so far! of coz there some minor things that was off. But hey overall everything just feels right and meets just like back in the good old days! On the pricing ish, JB is helly asking overly too much and not to be mentioned on their quality...I am located in HK, and I still feel pricey....even though we are the cheapest place in the world (still) for shoes. Thats why I rather buy reebok retros nowadays, shape is right, closest to the og, materials used are by far the best.

Word. JB is just a let down for all of their fans, but the hype is so big now, no one really pays attention to the details, or the prices for that meter.

JB is taking the wrong flight! Wheres the: looking at the hang time, flying motion be? Now, JB is setting its foot in the K Pop sector! Rappers used to rock Js thats more meaningful then those k pop kids!!! oh well, may be we are too old to follow the trend? haha.....

they need to release more white attaqs and just say they are limited and then GR them so they still sell a ton because the crowds would be big on the limited hype but then everyone would be happy, oh and resellers would get their butts stuck with a loss

they shot themselves in da foot..limited da only color people really wanted and thought they

could sit on their ***** thinking that interest was gonna diffuse on da other pairs..nah b.

and da white ones aren't even zooming in value either, they hit a hard wall at da upper 200+..

You're right, they thought they could do the same with the Attaqs that they did with the Kamikaze II. The saving grace for the Kamikaze II was the $100 price tag though.
