His most famous work occurred on June 6, 1944 (D-Day) when he swam ashore with the second assault wave on Omaha Beach. He was armed with two Contax II cameras mounted with 50 mm lenses and several rolls of spare film.
Capa took 106 pictures in the first couple of hours of the invasion. However, a staff member at Life in London made a mistake in the darkroom; he set the dryer too high and melted the emulsion in the negatives in three complete rolls and over half of a fourth roll.
Although a fifteen-year-old lab assistant named Dennis Banks was responsible for the accident, another account, now largely accepted as untrue but that gained widespread currency, blamed Larry Burrows, who worked in the lab not as a technician but as a “tea-boy”. Only eight frames in total were recovered. Capa never said a word to the London bureau chief about the loss of three and a half rolls of his D-Day landing film.
IMAGINE WHAT ELSE WAS ON THOSE ROLLS

And Joe still beat the crap outta him.
I didn't say he KTFO outta him nor I mentioned the other two fights.Beat the crap out of him??? Joe Frazier won that fight by decision and Ali won the next following two fights between the two, the last of which Frazier's corner had to throw in the towel...

I didn't say he KTFO outta him nor I mentioned the other two fights.
In THIS fight Joe beat the crap out of Ali, knocking him down in the 15th sealing the deal in the decision.
I had it 9-6 in favor of Frazier, shutting big Ali's mouth (at least temporarily).
He won the majority of rounds, out landing him (despite old Joe only throwing his left hook and the occasional right), and yes he did beat the crap out of him. Ali beat up Joe in the last 4 rounds in the 3rd fight, the previous 10 being a back and forth battle. Foreman utterly dominated Frazier, it's beyond an *** kicking. In that fight, true he won that is correct. However, he did not "beat the crap out of him", that is an extreme exageration. Beating the crap out of someone is what Foreman did to Frazier in Jamaica, or what Ali did to Chuck Wepner, or even what Ali did to Frazier in Manilla.
Yeah he only shut his mouth temporarily because he was back talking after the fight and subsequent two fights when Muhummad Ali solidifed himself as the greatest heavyweight of all time.
BTW we sound like two old guys in the barbershop in "Coming to America" arguing over a fight that happened over 40 years agoIts cool to meet another boxing historian though, despite you being a fan of Joe Frazier...
Slave castle at Elmina, Central Region. The dungeons where slaves were kept for months before being shipped out to the Western world. You can still smell and see the blood, now black pigment, on the walls.
