Nelly was kinda on the downside when Chingy dropped wasn't he? Chingy was 04. Nelly peak was 2000-03.

He's coming off the success of drop down get ya eagle on and nellyville which was huge.

He did sweat and suit around this time and really started tapping into the pop/ country lanes but Nelly was still a A-list artist at this time. Chingy was hot and had a luda cosign but he was literally throwing stones at a giant. Nelly was already a diamond artist at this point.

The word performative is terribly overused nowadays.
Calling literal performers performative to promote their album is just dumb. That’s what they do…perform. Thats what they are supposed to do.

The civic thing is a cool call back to his story but driving that old *** car across the country is just dumb.

It's honestly baffling to me why him doing this is triggering some people so bad

I've done a 180

I thought it was corny and was just for the album roll out and was just for a look. The album came out, what two weeks ago and he's still doing it. He's indie, if he wanted to stop he could have cut it short. Hell, I know he's gone out of his way to go to some of these schools after being asked to go.

Had hundreds of kids waiting for him at schools I **** with and interacted with them. Made their semester if not year and gave them a moment to remember.

I changed my tune

Some people might feel the opposite, none of it is that deep really.

No What Joe does is lie in order to support and not look like a hater especially when all Cole doing is promoting a good album.
