I don't usually get into that "he's changed" narrative about artists since that's what they're supposed to do but damn 01-03 Eminem had one of the greatest flows of all time. He claims he had to relearn how to rap after his overdose which would seemingly explain the drastic change in his rap style after the Eminem show era but idk man. He doesn't even double layer his tracks anymore and that always gave his music that extra umph. This track took me back to 03.

Em’s flow/delivery was incredible during that period (I’d say from 99-03). Encore dropped, and though there were some flashes of that same Em, that was the start of the descent. Dude went from doing whiny singing and angry yelling to going firmly into the Rap God flow packing every syllable you could into every bar. He focused far too much on the technical aspects of rap and forgot how to make songs that actually sounded good. He hasn’t made one album worth going back to since Eminem Show.

Those hats and white man durags he used to wear are TERRIBLE.

I didn’t appreciate his flow back then. The older I get, I see how wild his flows were. I’m a bigger Em and Nelly fan in the last few years than I was back then.
