Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

Nah that’s Grimey logic. Don’t put that on us.

Salute to Grimey for the 69 tirade though. In hindsight I really can’t believe that was a moment in hip hop for real. :smh:
I really gave that mixtape a full listen with the TV off and all that like it was Drogas Wave.:sick:

****** was really in here comparing him to Sticky Fingaz.:stoneface:

It was almost a year ****** was posting and defending that **** in here.

I'm still disappointed in some of y'all.

Gillie/Philly inspired Wayne is his apex hands down. He always had the charisma and mic presence but that lil extra inspiration (and possible references :nerd:) filled it out

Looking back it really was a interesting mix of east coast and down south sensibilities

Post-Carter 2 Wayne (when he started going away from that style) is basically a caricature , outside of random bright spots like No Ceilings etc

Wym by possible references

Thats my point bruh. Y’all allowed guys like 69 into hip hop. Rap lost all credibility after that. Can’t ever be mad at any rap character. Let alone Wayne, who’s actually a legend.

People may call guys like Paul Pierce a clown. But, he’s still a legend.

Y’all made 69 a thing, when he should’ve never been getting a push in the first place :lol :rollin

Part of it was people pushing it, but another part of it was inflating his numbers and making people believe they were missing out on a moment.

People are just followers, generally speaking. Once you create the narrative, people will follow.

There were dudes walking around on foot in the Bronx playing Tekashi. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but ****** is followers.

Ehhh, his flow kinda wack on it.

I get that Suge put him on and put on a lot of people but I think he showing Suge a little too much love. Suge did a lot of ****ed up and stupid ****. Got people beat up and killed and raped.

Everybody know Suge did f'ed up **** but you can't just tell one side of his story. It wouldn't have been a Dearhrow w/o him getting Dre from Eazy and that lead to a whole domino effect with Snoop, Nate, Kurpt, Daz, Rage etc. It's stories about Suge helping peoles families that wasn't even signed to him. Depending on who you from people have different stories about Suge.

Suge took that black godfather image too far and stayed in BS too much.

I always thought Tha Last Meal was underrated, it's probably my favorite Snoop album :smokin

My favorite Snoop album too. I know doggystyle is his best album but this one is my favorite. For nostalgic reasons.

Nicki is a basket case she do got a point about Ho Budden. There’s no question why he has been smacked multiple times

***** put out the Dreamville album before I got my KOD vinyl.

How you feel with this nine mill to your grill
Haters talkin' lots of ****
But they scared of the steel
If you want me come and get me
Cause I'm real with this here
I ain't scared of none of you ****
I ain't never shead a tear
In yo hood bumpin' ridin' with a twelve case of beer
Ain't no ***** make no moves
Get you scared, shook your fear
Y2K hit the clock
So you know the ending's near
One call to them killas and you just might disappear
