As someone who's been listening to the BI podcast for a year & change & Joe podcast for about the same time.. these two are really not nearly the same kind of personalities. Outside of being honest they do two completely different things. and Again Charlamagne's brand and topic discussion varies a lot more than Joe's
And once again, if AK tells you that Charlamagne personally calls him all the time to give him tips on how to better his brand and the show, invited him on to his platform to discuss the show..... how exactly is that hating
also ya'll are acting as if Charlamagne has no presence online
Joe has his podcast & now ES
Char has his podcast (which is bigger than Joe's), BC interviews, A constant relationship with vlad, pretty much the big homie to Tax, Bodega Boys, & the Read which are also huge podcast that are loved by the young/internet generation.
Not to mention that Joe is NOWHERE near him at conducting an interview or controlling the pace of the interview. BC is gonna always have an advantage because they are much more diverse in there subject matter and anybody who's making noise in hiphop HAS to touch the breakfast club.
Just like there's a crowd who doesn't wanna hear from angela rye, there's an even bigger crowd who don't know or give a **** about xxx whateva & his tweets. The breakfast club is literally bringing presidential candidates on there show, if some lil Yachty fans rather watch AK talk about him, that's not really hurting there brand at all.
This is pretty much the same arguments people use when discussing this new wave of rappers like Uzi, Yachty, Carti, thug etc etc... They are doing there thing and they get support from a certain demographic. However those who appeal to larger demographics are really the ones dominating rap.... The Kendricks, Cole, Drake, Sean, Kanye etc etc
you don't have to dominate the youth lane to be on top, you just have to make sure that your relevant with a portion of them too, but creating content specifically for the "youth" and ignoring the rest is gonna leave you a distant second.
